Wir verassen die A13 (Sargans-Chur) über die Ausfahrt 15 - Zizers - und fahren in den Ort Untervaz. Wir steuern die Straße "Bachtobel" an und stellen hier unser Auto an geeigneter Stelle ab (siehe Anfahrt in Fotogalerie).

We leave the A13 (Sargans-Chur) via exit 15 - Zizers - and drive to the village Untervaz. We head for the road "Bachtobel" and park our car here at a suitable place (see approach in photo gallery).

Vom Bachtobel nehmen wir einen Pfad, der in westlicher Richtung hinauf führt zu einem Forstweg, dem wir in südlicher Richtung zu einem Wasserbehälter folgen. Dann folgen wir einem Pfad, der zunächst auf die Schlucht zuläuft, dann auf deren orograf. linken Hochufer entlang bachaufwärts zieht. Noch bevor Weg und Fluss einen 90 Grad-Knick nach Süden machen, seilen wir von einem Baum ca. 20m in die Schlucht hinunter (siehe Kartenskizze in Fotogalerie). Vom Alternativparkplatz die Straße in nördlicher Richtung aufwärts. Nach annähernd 100m von der Straße in spitzem Winkel links ab auf ein schmales Sträßchen, das uns zu einem Wasserbehälter führt. Hinter dem Behälter beginnt ein Steig, der in die Schlucht hinein zieht. Der Steig ist nun in die senkrechte Felswand gehauen. Wir suchen nun rechts in der Wand auf Kopfhöhe einen Haken, von dem wir etwa 15m in die Bachsohle direkt oberhalb der gemauerten Stufe hineinseilen können (alternativ von einem Baum).

From the ravine we take a path that leads up in a westerly direction to a forest road, which we follow in a southerly direction to a water reservoir. Then we follow a trail that first runs toward the canyon, then moves upstream along its orographic left high bank. Before the trail and the river make a 90 degree bend to the south, we rope down from a tree about 20m into the canyon (see map sketch in photo gallery). From the alternative parking lot, go up the road in a northerly direction. After about 100m turn left from the road at a sharp angle onto a narrow road that leads to a water reservoir. Behind the reservoir begins a path that goes into the canyon. The path is now carved into the vertical rock face. We now look for an anchor on the right side of the wall at head height, from which we can rope about 15m into the streambed directly above the masonry step (alternatively from a tree).

Einige wenige Abseiler in attraktivem Ambiente erwarten uns. Viele Passagen werden abkletternd bewältigt. Notausstiege würde man vergeblich suchen. Ausstieg an der Staumauer nach links. siehe Fotoalbum und Video

Schnell kommen wir in die Straße, wo unser Auto steht (nicht verifiziert; die Beschreibungen zeichnen einen Ausstieg nach der anderen Seite des Baches). Vor der Geschiebebremse rechts hinaus und hinauf. Auf dem Damm rechts haltend zum Auto.
