Zu Beginn gleiche Zufahrt wie zum Barranco de Funes: 'Von Almunecar beim Kreisverkehr die N 340 von Malaga nach Almeria verlassen und in Richtung Otivar abbiegen. Durch Otivar durch und auf der Hauptstraße weiter in Richtung Granada. Kurz nach Otivar zweigt rechts die Straße nach Lentegi ab. Hier geradeaus weiter, in einer Linkskurve über den Rio Lentegi und in Kehren immer höher, vorbei an den Sendemasten und dem Parador Cabra Montes mit einer Tankstelle. Ca. 1,6 km nach der Tankstelle in Richtung Norden' - weiter auf der Straße nach Granada - 'zweigt nach einer Brücke links .... die Piste' zum Barranco de Funes und zum Rio Verde (Bco. de las Chorreras) sowie zum Barranco de los Madroñales ab (große Tafel 'Rio Verde').Hier kommt man nach Ende der Tour wieder zurück auf die Straße.Will man bei mehreren Fahrzeugen eines an den Endpunkt stellen, so fährt man es auf der Piste atwa 2,7 km hinab bis zum schönen Schlusswasserfall des Barranco de los Chortales. Zum Einstieg fährt man auf der Straße nach Granada noch ca. 2,3 km weiter bis zu einer Straßensenke. Hier geht linkerhand eine Piste - mit Kette versperrt - hinab in das flache und meist wasserlose Kiesbett des Bco. de los Chortales - Standort für das zweite Auto. From Almunecar, leave the N 340 from Malaga to Almeria at the traffic circle and turn off in the direction of Otivar. Go through Otivar and continue on the main road towards Granada. Shortly after Otivar, the road to Lentegi branches off to the right. Continue straight on here, in a left-hand bend over the Rio Lentegi and in hairpin bends higher and higher, past the transmission masts and the Parador Cabra Montes with a petrol station. Approx. 1.6 km after the petrol station heading north' - continuing on the road to Granada - 'after a bridge on the left .... the track branches off' to the Barranco de Funes and the Rio Verde (Bco. de las Chorreras) as well as to the Barranco de los Madroñales (large sign 'Rio Verde').If you have more than one vehicle, if you want to put one at the end of the tour, drive down the dirt road for about 2.7 km to the beautiful final waterfall of the Barranco de los Chortales. For entry, continue on the road to Granada for another 2.3 km until you reach a depression. Here, a track on the left - blocked by a chain - leads down into the flat and mostly waterless gravel bed of the Bco. de los Chortales - the location for the second car. 4 Abseiler. Der Barranco de las Chortales gefällt durch seine Tuffformationen (vor allem der Schlusswasserfall).

Sofern man nicht die Barrancos de las Chortales und - de Funes bzw. - de Madronales und den Bco. de las Chorreras (Rio Verde) verbinden will (insgesamt eine lockere Ganztagestour), geht es nach dem Schlusswasserfall auf der erwähnten Piste hinauf (2,7 km) zur Teerstraße, wo das Auto abgestellt ist.

Unless you want to combine the Barrancos de las Chortales and - de Funes or - de Madronales and the Bco. de las Chorreras (Rio Verde) (altogether an easy all-day tour), after the final waterfall you take the aforementioned dirt road uphill (2.7 km) to the tarred road where the car is parked.
