Wir verlassen die Autoroute du Rhône zwischen Martigny und Genfersee über die Ausfahrt Saint-Triphon. Über Monthey geht es das Tal der Vièze hinauf nach Champéry. Weiter geht es Richtung Seilbahn und Camping du Grand Paradis. Nach der zweiten Bachquerung (das ist bereits die Saufla) geht es links und unmittelbar am Bach entlang (Route de Barme). 650m weiter geht links eine Forststraße ab, die zum Parkplatz für die Begehung des Saufla Aval führt. Wir bleiben aber auf der Route de Barme und fahren noch einmal 800m weiter. Noch vor dem nächsten Bach parken wir dort, wo beschilderte Wanderwege ("Bonavau") beginnen (1150m Höhe).

We leave the Autoroute du Rhône between Martigny and Lake Geneva via the Saint-Triphon exit. Via Monthey we go up the valley of the Vièze to Champéry. Continue towards the cable car and Camping du Grand Paradis. After the second stream crossing (this is already the Saufla) go left and directly along the stream (Route de Barme). 650m further on, a forest road branches off to the left, leading to the parking area for the ascent of the Saufla Aval. But we stay on the Route de Barme and continue for another 800m. Before the next stream, we park where signposted hiking trails ("Bonavau") begin (1150m altitude).

Wir nehmen den Weg zum Chalet de Bonavau auf 1550m Höhe. Dabei kreuzen wir mehrfach eine Piste, die auf 1440m Höhe endet. Von Bonavau geht es weiter hinauf zum Pas d'Encel, zunehmend steiler. Auf fast 1800m Höhe überqueren wir die Saufla auf einer Fußgängerbrücke. Zwischen der Brücke und der etwa 100m entfernten Staumauer steigen wir ein.

We take the path to the Chalet de Bonavau at 1550m altitude. In the process we cross several times a dirt road that ends at 1440m altitude. From Bonavau we continue up to Pas d'Encel, increasingly steep. At almost 1800m altitude we cross the Saufla on a pedestrian bridge. Between the bridge and the dam wall about 100m away we climb.

Zwischen beiden Abschnitten quert ein Wanderweg.

Nach der Cascade de la Sauffla (1400m Höhe) rechts hinaus und hinauf auf den Wanderweg. Dort rechts, die Saufla zwischen Teilabschnitt a) und b) queren und über das Chalet de Bonavau wieder hinunter zum Auto.

Besondere Sorgfalt beim Begehen von Saufla geboten. Wasserstand gut überprüfen für sup und inf. Viele enge Passagen. Inf. hat unteranderem viel Wasserzufuhr von den Seiten und sup, 2 Wasserstauwerke wo man das Wasser pumpt. Diese sind manchmal defekt und können überlaufen. Beim Einstieg in den sup. überprüfen das die Becken leer sind.
