Entweder von München kommend über Kochel oder aus Richtung Mittenwald über Wallgau, jeweils auf der B11 zur Ortschaft Walchensee am gleichnamigen Stausee (ca. 11,5 km ab Kochel). Hier steuern wir die Herzogstandbahn an mit einem großen (gebührenpflichtigen) Parkplatz. Direkt südlich daneben ist die Brücke über den Deinigbach, die wir noch überqueren, um unmittelbar danach rechts abzubiegen in den Dainingsbachweg. Hier noch 350 m Richtung SW und dann Auto rechts abstellen (ca. 830 m ü.NN).

Either coming from Munich via Kochel or from the direction of Mittenwald via Wallgau, in each case on the B11 to the village of Walchensee at the reservoir of the same name (approx. 11.5 km from Kochel). Here we head for the Herzogstandbahn with a large (paid) parking lot. Directly south of it is the bridge over the Deinigbach, which we still cross to turn right immediately afterwards into the Dainingsbachweg. Here another 350 m direction SW and then park the car on the right (approx. 830 m above sea level).

Vom abgestellten Fahrzeug zunächst den Deiningbach auf dessen orografisch rechter Seite entlang, zuerst auf der Straße, dann auf einem Forstweg, schließlich auf dem Wanderweg zum Heimgartengipfel aufwärts; der Weg führt nun am Rotwandgraben, einem (orograf.) rechten Seitenbach des Deiningbaches, entlang. Bei etwa 900 m ü.NN erreicht man einen Forstweg, den man nach rechts weitergeht. Zwei Wanderwege gehen links ab, wir bleiben aber rechts unten und kommen wieder an den Deiningbach, den wir bei 930 m ü.NN queren. Jetzt geht es jenseits auf einem Jägersteig in Serpentinen steil hinauf. Bei etwa 1140 m ü.NN zieht der Steig dann in NNW am Hang entlang und führt uns hinauf zu einer 'Diensthütte' der Forstverwaltung (1210 m ü.NN). 50 (Strecken-)Meter vor Erreichen der Hütte biegt ein undeutlicher Steig links ab und führt, zuerst leicht abfallend, zu einem Graben (Bach), dann wieder ansteigend hinüber zum nächsten Graben, dem Deiningbach (1170 m ü.NN, Einstieg).

From the parked vehicle first along the Deiningbach on its orographic right side, first on the road, then on a forest road, finally on the hiking trail to the Heimgarten summit upwards; the trail now leads along the Rotwandgraben, an (orographic.) right side stream of the Deiningbach. At about 900 m above sea level you reach a forest road, which you continue to the right. Two hiking trails go off to the left, but we stay down to the right and come back to the Deiningbach, which we cross at 930 m above sea level. Now it goes beyond on a hunters path in serpentines steeply up. At about 1140 m a.s.l. the path goes NNW along the slope and leads us up to a 'service hut' of the forest administration (1210 m a.s.l.).50 meters before reaching the hut an indistinct path turns left and leads, first slightly descending to a ditch (stream), then ascending again over to the next ditch, the Deiningbach (1170 m a.s.l., entry).

Überwiegend ist Abklettern angesagt, einige Abseiler. Der hohe Abseiler ziemlich am Ende ist inzwischen eingesichert. Entweder bei 930 m ü.NN wieder auf den Zustiegsweg rechts hinaus und in 20 Min. zum Auto (empfohlen). Oder den Bach weiter hinab bis zu einem 5-m-Wasserfall; dort links auf einen Pfad hinaus, der später den Bach nach re. quert und schließlich auch zu der Forststraße des Aufstiegs führt.

Mainly downclimbing is announced, some rappel. The high rappel quite at the end is now secured.\nEither at 930 m a.s.l. back out on the access path to the right and in 20 min. to the car (recommended).Or continue down the creek to a 5 m waterfall; there left out on a path that later crosses the creek to the right and finally also leads to the forest road of the ascent.
