Von Mondsee fährt man in Richtung Unterach/Bad Ischl. Dann rechts weiter Richtung Weißenbach am Attersee. Nach dem Campingplatz in Weißbach rechts Richtung Bad Ischl abbiegen und der B153 bis Km 6,2 folgen. Entweder parkt man gleich rechts in der Forststraße neben dem Radweg (wenig Platz) oder man fährt noch etwa 100m weiter und parkt am großen Parkplatz links neben der Bundesstraße.

approx. 15min From Mondsee drive in the direction of Unterach/Bad Ischl. Then turn right in the direction of Weißenbach am Attersee. After the camping site in Weißbach turn right towards Bad Ischl and follow the B153 to Km 6,2. Either park immediately on the right in the forest road next to the bike path (little space) or continue for about 100m and park at the large parking lot to the left of the main road.

Man folgt zuerst der verwachsenen Forststraße die direkt bei Straßen Km 6,2 in den lichten Wald führt. Nach kurzer Zeit geht die Forststraße in einen Pfad über der nun steiler durch den Wald bergauf führt und nach einigen Höhenmeter wieder auf die alte Forststraße trifft. Ab hier folgt man mit nur leichter Steigung der alten Forststraße (ähnelt zum Teil eher einen verwachsenen Weg) die nach ca. 15min auf eine neue Forststraße trifft (große freie Fläche). Der neuen Forststraße folgt man rechts nur ein kurzes Stück bis zum Einstieg auf ca. 740m runter (tut zwar nicht viel zur Sache aber der Hinterer Stehrergraben Einstieg ist nicht vor, sondern nach der Kurve!).

approx. 25-30min First follow the overgrown forest road that leads directly into the sparse forest at km 6.2. After a short time, the forest road turns into a path that now leads more steeply uphill through the forest and after a few meters of altitude again meets the old forest road. From here you follow the old forest road with only a slight incline (resembles in part rather an overgrown path) which after about 15min meets a new forest road (large open area). The new forest road is followed to the right only a short distance to the entry at about 740m down (does not matter much but the Hinterer Stehrergraben entry is not before but after the bend!)

Der Hinterer Stehrergraben ist mit seinem offen Schluchtencharakter, vielen Rutschen und kleinen Abseilstufen neben der Burggrabenklamm sicher einer der lohnenswertesten Anfängerschluchten im Salzkammergut. Je nach Teilnehmer, Wetter und Jahreszeit kann ein 3mm Neopren ausreichend sein. Die Canyoningtour wird nie langweilig da sich Geh-, Rutsch, Abseil-, und Abkletterpassagen gut abwechseln. Eine höhere Kaskade in der Mitte der Schlucht von ca. 16m kann über ein fixes Seil rechts umgangen werden. Nach ein paar Rutschen folgt eine weitere 16m Stufe die nach Kontrolle ab der Mitte auch gerne mal gerutscht wird. Danach folgen noch kleinere Geh-, Rutsch- und Abkletterpassagen bevor man am Schluss zur höchsten gut einsehbaren Abseilstelle (10m+20m) kommt. Nach der letzten kleinen 3m Stufe (evtl. Sprung) verlässt man den Bach rechts auf ca. 540m.

approx. 2-2,5h The Hinterer Stehrergraben with its open canyon character, many slides and small abseil steps is next to the Burggrabenklamm certainly one of the most rewarding beginner canyons in the Salzkammergut. Depending on the participant, weather and season, a 3mm neoprene may be sufficient. The canyoning tour is never boring as walking, slide, rappel and downclimb passages alternate well. A higher cascade in the middle of the canyon of about 16m can be bypassed via a fixed rope on the right. After a few slides follows another 16m step which after control from the middle is also gladly slid. After that, smaller walking, slide and downclimb passages follow before you finally come to the highest rappelling point (10m+20m), which is easy to see. After the last small 3m step (possibly jump) you leave the stream to the right at about 540m.

Durch den Wald zur Hauptstraße und rechts zurück zum Parkplatz.
