Von Ierapetra nehmen wir die Straße in Richtung Agios Nikolaos. Nach etwa 5 km fahren wir an dem rechterhand liegenden Kato Horio vorbei und nehmen nach 10 km (ab Ierapetra) eine Abzweigung halbrechts; die andere in rechtem Winkel abgehende Straße würde nach Monastiraki führen. Auf unserer Straße fahren wir ca. 1200 m (ONO) und queren dann das Kiesbett des Baches, der den Ha-Canyon durchfließt. Dannach orientieren wir uns nach rechts und erreichen nach Passieren einer Zufahrt zu einer Fabrik eine Kapelle, die am Ende des Ha-Canyons (orograf. rechtes Ufer) liegt. Hier stellen wir ein Fahrzeug ab.Mit dem anderen geht es zurück nach Kato Horio, biegen beim Anfang der Ortschaft links in diese hinein, halten uns dann ca. 700 m immer geradeaus in südlicher Richtung, bis wir die Straße nach Thripti (am Beginn Richtung Osten) finden. Von hier fahren wir gute 7,5 km bergauf, bis kurz nach einer markanten Linkskurve eine Piste links ab geht. Diese (2022 auch mit Normal-PKW gut fahrbar, allerdings nicht mit 5 schweren Personen ;) ) nehmen wir; sie führt im Wesentlichen horizontal am Hang des Ha entlang und nach ca. 400 m (ab Pistenbeginn) erreichen wir die Kapelle Agia Annna, wo wir das andere Fahrzeug abstellen (siehe auch http://www.canyoning-club.com/images/canones/topos/creta/ha/crokis_ha.jpg)

From Ierapetra we take the road towards Agios Nikolaos. After about 5 km we pass Kato Horio on the righthand side and after 10 km (from Ierapetra) we take a fork half-right; the other road leaving at a right angle would lead to Monastiraki. On our road we go about 1200 m (NE) and then cross the gravel bed of the stream that flows through Ha Canyon. Then we orientate to the right and after passing an access road to a factory we reach a chapel, which is located at the exit of the Ha-Canyon (orographic right bank). Here we park one vehicle and return with the other one to Kato Horio, turn left at the beginning of the village, then keep straight south for about 700 m until we find the road to Thripti (east at the beginning). From here we drive uphill for a good 7.5 km until shortly after a prominent left turn a dirt road turns off to the left. We take this road (2022 well drivable with a normal car, but not with 5 heavy persons ;) ); it leads horizontally along the slope of the Ha and after about 400 m (from the beginning of the track) we reach the chapel Agia Annna, where we park the other vehicle (see also http://www.canyoning-club.com/images/canones/topos/creta/ha/crokis_ha.jpg).

Von der Kapelle aus können wir zwischen einem oberen und einem unteren Zustieg wählen. Der untere Zustieg ist nicht so ganz einfach zu finden, er verkürzt aber den Abstieg um fast 1 Stunde. Andrerseits geht ein 20m-Abseiler verloren und die Möglichkeit, kleine artesische Quellen im Bachbett zu betrachten. Zum oberen Zustieg geht man die Piste hinter der Kapelle weiter, bis man auf einige Meter an das Bachbett herankommt. Hier nimmt man dann den verhältnismäßig angenehmsten Abstieg. Zum unteren Einstieg geht man am Rand des Canyons westwärts, oben an dem eingezäunten Grundstück mit Haus vorbei. Etwa 50m vor Erreichen eines Geländeeinschnitts hält man rechts hinunter und in etwa rechtem Winkel weglos (2022) auf das Bachbett zu. From the chapel we can choose between an upper and a lower access. The lower access is not so easy to find, but it shortens the descent by almost 1 hour. On the other hand, a 20m rappel is lost and the possibility to contemplate small artesian springs in the streambed. For the upper access, continue along the slope behind the chapel until you reach a few meters from the streambed. Here you take the relatively most pleasant descent. To get to the lower entry, walk west along the edge of the canyon, passing a fenced-in area with a house at the top. About 50m before reaching a cut in the terrain, keep to the right and descend at about a right angle without a path (2022) towards the streambed. Zu Beginn etwas offener, dann enge Einschluchtung in gewachsenem Fels, hohe Seitenwände, etwa 30 Abseiler, einige mit Handlauf einzurichten. Einige Sprungmöglichkeiten und Rutschen.

A bit more open at the beginning, then narrow gorge in grown rock, high side walls, about 30 rappel, some with handrails to set up. Some possible jumps and slides.
