All good
28.08.2024 Rio Ponte de Muro Montie ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Normal Completed ✔
Surprisingly great tour! Great for your last day; leave early, get the morning sun in the canyon, and drive home after. Water was very cold, but very clean. Lots of nice jumps. Really enjoyed this one a lot!
27.08.2024 Rio Storto Montie ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Low Completed ✔
I don't quite understand the car shuttle option. Perhaps if you are staying in Sauris, otherwise the drive over with 2 cars is so much more effort, and costs so much more than just walking up (we walked up on the road, which is not busy at all, took us 30 min at a slow pace). Canyon has an open-narrow-open-narrow pattern. The second narrow part is longer and more beautiful. At the "high" rappel in the first narrow part, do NOT tread on the right side (I was looking for an anchor on the big block on the right at which point a part of the floor gave way and plummeted down, almost taking me with it). There are only some loose rocks covering a large hole. They will not hold you! Better anchor point needed at this rappel. Otherwise the amount of trees in the canyon was not that bad. Never seen so many frogs in my life though, literally thousands upon thousands. Some pools were absolutely filled with (tiny) frogs. All in all a great canyon which could use a bit of work.

Definitely still low-water conditions, with a lot! of algae, especially at the beginning. After the start it becomes a bit less and is doesn't really bother you anymore. Some nice rappels, a few jumps, anchors are all great. Not quite as beautiful as others in the vicinity but still nice and rewarding. Would repeat.

Great little tour for arrival or departure day, or in combination with other canyons in the area. 2 very beautiful rappels, the rest is a little less impressive but still nice! Nice and clean water, and everything is very easy to find. Also took the bikelane back, as swimming the Fella would currently get you a bruised butt.
03.08.2024 Totengraben Montie ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Normal Completed ✔
Quite a long ascent and canyon for what you get in return. Starts of slow, then gets 4 quite nice rappels, and some small jumps and slides (up to 3 m) later. Lots of walking and downclimbing in between. We took the alternative exit just after the Plattengraben comes in on the right, sparing us the last bit of walking in the river. Not great, not bad. Anchors are ok.
28.07.2024 Gottschewerklamm Montie ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Dry Completed ✔
Rained quite a lot in the morning, was still dry in the early afternoon. Still quite beautiful though. Very slippery! Anchors okay.

All pools are unfortunately filled up completely. Max water depth is about knee height. Most of the jumps and slides are off the table for now.

I was positively surprised by this one, more fun and nicer than I expected! Unfortunately almost none of the pools are very deep, so slide and jump with care.. Video in the links section.

The description of the canyon makes you think that you should go in during high water levels, which I do not agree with. I suppose the description was written in the fall or in a dry summer, because on june 4th (and 3 days after a lot of rain) the water level during our descent (see pictures and video) would be what I would consider the maximum level with the current anchor situation. The anchor situation is currently bad - very bad! We had to place nuts and pitons on some rappels (unfortunately only brought a hand drill, did not want to spend too much time drilling). Next person to descend this canyon: please take a drill and a good amount of bolts :) The anchors are currently placed so that you have to take the most intense route straight through the water, which at higher water levels is uncomfortable or dangerous. This can easily be avoided with better anchor placement. Check the water level before you go (follow the path parallel to the Rio Siera the reach the point of the picture).

Anchors are good, pools deep enough to jump. Water level hardly ever an issue in the lower part due to the dam.
12.05.2024 Giessenbach (mittlerer) Montie ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Normal Completed ✔
Anchors in good condition, great tour. Waterlevel at 2,5 m3/s @Bleyerbrücke (Kieferbach). At the upper end of "normal" waterlevel, but no problems.

A lot more trees and debris in the canyon now compared to last fall. Anchors are ok, not great (both quality and placement). Still a nice and short narrow canyon. Recommend to only do the lower part and combine it with the Koppenbach. The "upper part" is rather boring.

Nice little canyon! Parking is better at 47.742, 12.991, there is an official parking space there (costs a little bit of money but doesn't annoy any people living there). Parking at the museum is probably fine on the days they are closed. The ascent is cool and short, but very steep. Lots of trees in the canyon on this day, some of them really rather annoying, which caused us to need at least 1.5 hours in the canyon instead of the 1 hour in the description. I can imagine it is doable in 1 hour if it is clean though. There are currently so many trees in the final open part, that it is easier to just go out on the right side after the canyon opens up. Anchors were ok for the most part.
06.04.2024 Pitzbach Montie ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 High Completed ✔
First pool is getting deeper again, can be jumped from the middle. Slide may be possible, the water level was too high to try it out. Not yet deep enough to jump from the top again. Second jump doable with bent knees. Some trees in the way after the winter. Anchor on the high rappel was loose, tightened it again. Other anchors are all fine. Rope at the tree-block is gone, new one should be installed. Downclimbing with a rope is easier and almost safer than rapelling here. Final jump is deep enough to jump.
31.03.2024 Taschbach Montie ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Normal Completed ✔
Most pools still are not deep enough to jump. The big slide is slowly getting a bit deeper, but still only around hip-deep. Some newly fallen trees are in the way here and there, should be cleared away before the beginning of the commercial season. Zipline is still up.

Beautiful canyon with a unique look due to the layered rock. Probably the most perfect (not the scariest or highest) slide in a very wide area. Some trash in the upper and lower areas. Apperently also gets some runoff from surrounding fields, which had recently been fertilized, creating a nice pool of fertilizer propped up against a few logs at the end of the canyon. Very nice canyon with very cold water. Many options to jump and slide. Can get a bit difficult with more water. Not super beginner friendly. Video of our tour here: https://youtu.be/6Plvkp-l5Sw?si=so3AuazQgCCgJAsq

Super easy tour under normal water conditions. Great for whitewater practice during high water conditions. Lots of jumps, deep pools. Very open "canyon".

Such a great and beautiful tour that is way too short. A looooot of commercial groups in the canyon when we were there (saw at least 5 separate groups). If you don't go on the weekend days you probably avoid most of them. Video of our tour here: https://youtu.be/4kAq5IE1l0g?si=NjCJfZ6J7UGYH7q_

Very beautiful canyon! One piece of information that was missing form the description, which I would have liked to know beforehand, is that there is a (very small) siphon at which you have to dive underneath the rocks (unless you are a good climber, the bolts to climb up have been removed). There are a few other "almost-siphons" which are all unproblematic. The diving one is not really a problem either, but if you don't know you might be wondering where to go next! We were there in low-water conditions, because of which we experienced some bad smells in some pools. Unfortunately, an animal had died in the pool of the siphon, not a pleasant dive! The lower part is, for my taste, way too commercialized. Steel ziplines and other stuff all over the place.

Lovely tour, highly recommend the ascent on the west side over Pra l'Oste, which is beautiful. You can actually start at the bridge instead of at the waterworks, which gives you a very nice jump or slide extra! Definitely some long stretches of walking / climbing over and through huge blocks. Quite tiring, but with beautiful parts in between. Video here: https://youtu.be/vPIG7f0U0kQ?si=IG_1BYtfCLmaaxcS

Great fun for those that like alpine canyons with high rappels! The ascent and the way back take some effort though. Anchors (usually old single bolts) were in pretty bad shape when we were there in 2020 and in 2019.
