Von Larissa gute 55 km in Richtung West oder von den Meteora-Klöstern (Kalambaka) etwa 22 km in Richtung SSO erreicht man die Stadt Trikala. Von hier geht es weiter in südwestlicher Richtung nach Mouzaki (etwa 18 km). Dabei gibt es alternative Routen. Man fährt dann in Mouzaki südwärts über den Fluss Pamissos auf der Straße, die nach Karditsa führt. Kurz nach der Brücke biegt man auf ein kleines Teersträßchen rechts ab, am Südwestrand einer Siedlung entlang. Ziel ist das Kloster Agios Georgios. Noch in der Siedlung beginnt die Straße nach einer Linkskurve anzusteigen. Ständig bergauf, vorbei an einer Brunnenkapelle links im Hang an der Straße erreicht man nach 2,3 km (ab Brücke) die Hochfläche mit Friedhof (rechts) und Kloster (links). Hier das Auto abstellen. Auch eine Autoumsetzung ist möglich. In diesem Fall ein Auto beim Ausstieg abstellen.

Still in the settlement, the road begins to climb after a left turn. Continuously uphill, passing a well chapel on the left side of the slope along the road, after 2.3 km (from the bridge) you reach the plateau with the cemetery (on the right) and the monastery (on the left). Park the car here. A shuttle is also possible. In this case, park a car at the exit.

Nach Westen ausgerichteter Canyon, ziemlich offen, der helle Stein verleiht ihm ein freundliches Ambiente. Auch für Anfänger gut geeignet. Der Name Mega Rema (= Großer Strom) ist ziemlich übertrieben angesichts des meist dürftigen Wasserdurchsatzes.

West facing canyon, quite open, the light stone gives it a friendly ambience. Also well suited for beginners. The name Mega Rema (= Great Stream) is rather exaggerated in view of the mostly meager water flow.

Nachdem die Schlucht sich öffnet und das Gefälle entscheidend abnimmt, marschiert man noch einige hundert Meter im gerölligen Bachbett, bis man links auf eine freie (Wiesen-)Fläche aussteigen kann. Am Bach entlang weiter kommt man schließlich auf die breite Piste am Fluss Pamisos. Hier rechts in nördlicher Richtung, entlang an einem Drahtzaun zur Rechten, findet man wenige Meter nach dessen Ende rechts (bei einem Picknik-Platz) einen Pfad, der zunächst über einen Holzsteg, dann bequem bergauf zieht und ziemlich genau beim Auto auf die Höchfläche kommt.

After the canyon opens up and the slope decreases decisively, you march a few hundred meters in the scree-strewn streambed until you can exit to the left onto an open (meadow) area. Continuing along the stream, you finally come to the wide dirt road by the Pamisos River. Here, turn right in a northerly direction, along a wire fence on the right, and a few meters after its exit you will find a path on the right (at a picnic area), which first crosses a wooden footbridge, then comfortably climbs uphill and reaches the highest area almost exactly at the car.
