Résumé:
Adventurous, alpine and vertical canyon. In the whole part 1 of the Belepeit there is practically no possibility to get out. You should definitely take enough drinking water reserves with you, as the canyon is exposed SE at the top and when it gets narrower there is no water available for a very long time. Especially during the first 5 rappels - until the narrower part of the canyon begins - there is acute danger of falling rocks and partly sharp-edged terrain. If you are interested in history, you can look for 2 B24 wrecks from the 2nd World War on the way to the entry. These planes were brought down at the Austrian-Italian border by flack fire after a mission in Regensburg on 16.2.1945. With the photos you will find some information about the crash sites. There are 2 books dealing with the crashes: - Missione 139 - I'm off to War, Mother, But I'll be Back - Jerry Whiting Under the following link you will find a short summary: https://www.fold3.com/page/286482831-crash-of-b-24-44-49657-marc-12494
