Von Locarno fährt man ins schöne Maggia Tal --> auf der Bundesstraße fährt man durch mehrere kleine Ortschaften (Achtung Radarkontrollen!), bis man zur Ortschaft Someo kommt. In der Ortschaft Riveo die erste richtige Straße "la Geira" nach links abbiegen. Am Ende der Straße parkieren (mit dem 4x4 kann man theoretisch auch durch die Maggia fahren).

From Locarno, drive into the beautiful Maggia Valley --> take the main road through several small villages (watch out for speed cameras!) until you reach the village of Someo. In the village of Riveo, take the first real road "la Geira" to the left. Park at the exit of the road (theoretically you can also drive through the Maggia with a 4x4).

Vom Parkplatz durch die Maggia nach links dem Weg folgen. Am Hang halten dann dem Wegweiser Richtung Alzasca Hütte folgen und dem Weg folgen bis zur Brücke. Hier ist der Einstieg, vorher von dort zur Wasserfassung aufsteigen und Wasserstand im Bach prüfen. Zurück zum Weg und weiter steil bergan. Am Wegpunkt (Kreuzung) dem linken Weg folgen der weniger Steil ins Tal einquert. Wegpunkt 2 ist eine Brücke über den Bach. Bei Wegpunkt 3 (Häußer) nach rechts bergab Richtung Bach (leicht links halten).

From the parking lot, follow the path to the left through the Maggia. Keep to the slope, then follow the signpost to the Alzasca hut and follow the path to the bridge. This is the entry point, before climbing up to the water catchment and checking the water level in the stream. Return to the path and continue steeply uphill. At the waypoint (crossroads), follow the left-hand path which crosses the valley less steeply. Waypoint 2 is a bridge over the stream. At waypoint 3 (Häußer) turn right downhill towards the stream (keep slightly left).

Wasserstand sollte nieder sein für diese Tour. Auf keinen Fall einsteigen, wenn Regen in der Vorhersage ist. Wasserfälle, Rutschen und Sprünge, alles was eine gute Tour braucht. Keine einfachen Notausgänge. Die engste Engstelle nach ca. 2/3 der Tour kann linksseitig umgangen werden, aber auf diese Alternative sollte man sich nicht verlassen (Hierfür den R6 der den Einstieg der Engstelle darstellt wieder aufsteigen und linksseitig umgehen).

Water level should be low for this tour. Do not enter if rain is in the forecast. Waterfalls, slides and jumps, everything a good tour needs. No easy emergency exits. The narrowest narrow section after approx. 2/3 of the tour can be bypassed on the left, but you should not rely on this alternative (for this, climb the R6 which is the entry to the narrow section and bypass it on the left).

An der Wasserfassung links aussteigen und dem Weg ins Tal folgen, die Maggia durchqueren und zurück zum Auto.

Get out at the water intake on the left and follow the path into the valley, cross the Maggia and return to the car.
