Wir fahren von Walchsee oder Niederndorf in Richtung Rettenschöss, vorbei an der Adresse Schwaigs 28, 6344 Schwaigs, bis wir bei dem Wanderparkplatz Kitzbichl angelangt sind. Hier ist ein Parkticket zu lösen in Höhe von 3,- Euro pro Tag (Stand August 2024).

Wir folgen dem Wanderweg zur Aufinger Alm, vorbei an der Schranke. Nach zwei engen Kurven überqueren wir ein Viehgitter. Nach dem Gitter folgen wir dem links abzweigenden Weg, den wir nach der ersten Kurve bergab in Richtung des Waldes verlassen. Von hieraus suchen wir uns einen Weg gerade runter in den Bach.

We follow the hiking trail to the Aufinger Alm, past the barrier. After two narrow bends, we cross a cattle grid. After the gate, we follow the path branching off to the left, which we leave after the first bend downhill towards the forest. From here we look for a path straight down into the stream.

Es handelt sich hierbei um eine Tour mit einigen Abseilern in geringer Höge bis maximal 9 m. Es sind auch im oberen Teil der Schlucht einige Sprünge und Rutschen machbar, welche aber entweder zugeschottert oder durch Bäume blockiert sind (Stand August 2024). Im unteren Teil der Schlucht muss man sich derzeit durch sehr viel Totholz kämpfen, welches in den Bach gestürzt ist. Es empfiehlt sich die Tour vorzeitig über den Notausstieg auf der linken Seite zu verlassen.

Wählt man die Option des Notausstieges, dann folgt man einfach dem Forstweg zurück bis zum Parkplatz. Geht man die Tour bis zu Ende, steigen wir kurz nach dem großen Wasserfall, der von rechts in unseren mündet, links aus, wo wir dem Wanderweg, vorbei an einer Bank und einer Gedenkstätte, bis zur Straße folgen. entweder man fährt mit dem zuvor positionierten Fahrzeug, bis zum oberen, oder man geht entlang der Straße, bis zum Parkplatz.

Im normalfall eine Tour mit eher geringerer Wasserführung. im unteren Teilder Schlucht münden einige kleine Bäche in unsere Schlucht. Am meisten Wasser wird durch den letzten großen Wasserfall, kurz vor Ende der Tour, eingeleitet. Das Einzugsgebiet kann nicht genau bestimmt werden, wird aber relativ groß geschätzt.
