Wie beim Gnaupenloch: Wir verlassen, von Innsbruck kommend, die A 12 bei Zirl auf die B 177 in Richtung Seefeld, Garmisch (D). Nach etwa 2 km verlassen wir auch die B 177 über die Ausfahrt Zirl-West. In diesem Bereich beginnt die Hochzirler Straße, der wir bergauf folgen, vorbei am Bahnhof Hochzirl bis zum Landeskrankenhaus Hochzirl (3 km ab B 177). Hier möglichst weit oben (1000m üNN) das Auto am linken Straßenrand abstellen.

As for the Gnaupenloch: Coming from Innsbruck, we leave the A 12 at Zirl onto the B 177 in the direction of Seefeld, Garmisch (D). After about 2 km we also leave the B 177 via the exit Zirl-West. In this area the Hochzirler Straße begins, which we follow uphill past the Hochzirl train station to the Hochzirl regional hospital (3 km from B 177). Here, as far up as possible (1000m above sea level), park the car on the left side of the road.

Wir nehmen den "Welscher Weg" Richtung Leithen in nordwestlicher Richtung, biegen aber schon nach 100m rechts hinauf ab auf einen Forstweg, der anno 2014 wenige hundert Meter weiter durch einen Erdrutsch zerstört war. Der Weg führt gemäßigt bergauf, bis er auf Höhe 1150 m üNN plötzlich nach ONO knickt. Weiter bergauf sehen wir auf Höhe 1240m üNN links einenen kleinen Saumpfad abbiegen. Wir folgen ihm. Er führt kontinuierlich leicht bergab, wir passieren einen Holzsteg sowie einen Jägerstand zur Linken, dann geht es steiler hinunter, teilweise in Serpentinen, bis wir das Bachbett erreichen.\nUnser Weg weicht von der Zustiegsbeschreibung im Buch von Riml/Amor ab. Letztere führt zu einem Einstieg oberhalb der Staumauer, die wir von unserem Einstiegspunkt etwa 100 Streckenmeter weiter oberhalb sehen können. So man Lust hat, kann man in etwa 10 Min. einem Pfad bis in das Bachbett oberhalb der Staumauer folgen.

We take the "Welscher Weg" in the direction of Leithen in a northwesterly direction, but already after 100m we turn right uphill onto a forest road that was destroyed by a landslide a few hundred meters further on in 2014. The path leads moderately uphill until it suddenly bends to the NE at 1150m above sea level. Further uphill, at 1240m a.s.l., we see a small mule track turn off to the left. We follow it. It leads continuously slightly downhill, we pass a wooden footbridge and a hunter's stand on the left, then it goes down more steeply, partly in serpentines, until we reach the streambed.\nOur path deviates from the access description in the book by Riml/Amor. The latter leads to an entry above the dam wall, which we can see from our entry point about 100 meters further up the trail. If you feel like it, you can follow a path to the streambed above the dam in about 10 minutes.

Unmittelbar nach dem Start schluchtet sich der Bach ein. Abwechselnd Laufstrecken, Abseiler und Abklettern. Immer wieder Totholzhindernisse im Bach. Zwischenzeitlich wird die Schlucht etwas offener. Wo von rechts der Ursprungbach herunter plätschert, ist die Tour zu Ende.

Immediately after the start, the stream gorges. Alternating running routes, rappel and downclimb. Again and again deadwood obstacles in the stream. In the meantime, the canyon becomes a bit more open. Where the Ursprungbach ripples down from the right, the tour comes to an exit.

Links hinaus auf den Weg, der zuerst am Bach entlang abwärts führt. An der Geschiebebremse führt er dann links hinauf und wir kommen wieder auf den von Leithen kommenden "Welscher Weg". Auf diesem links, an einer Verzweigung weiter horizontal links haltend, kommen wir zurück zum Auto beim Landeskrankenhaus Hochzirl.

Turn left onto the path that first leads downhill along the stream. At the slide brake it then leads up to the left and we come back to the "Welscher Weg" coming from Leithen. On this left, at a junction further keeping horizontally left, we come back to the car at the provincial hospital Hochzirl.
