From Solenzara drive about 30 min on the now well built road to Bavella. After the mountain pass Bocca di Larone park in the second 180 degree bend.

Approche (30 min): traduction alternative ➜

The path goes through the Maccia first slightly uphill and winds around the mountain keeping slightly left. After 10 min it goes downhill. On a horizontal stretch of path you can see a tafoni rock jutting out of the maccia. Here the path divides. To the right, the path becomes steeper and steeper through the woods to the river.

Tour (1 h 30): traduction alternative ➜

In case of impending thunderstorm in any case do not enter!!Material: buoyant rope, 30m rope.Dreamlike, strongly cut and very short (1.5 km)canyon, starting with two easy jumps. First abseil point with 8-10m or to be mastered with jump. Shortly after, a waterfall curtain, which is about 10m wide. Here you have to look where you jump. Heavy people come up on the bottom!!! Stones can be seen from above. After that some swimming passages. Slippery passages (4-5m high) follow, which are better to rappel if you are doing the tour for the first time. A swimming passage ends at a waterfall, which is about 12m high. Some jump from there, for me it was too risky because the lake is quite shallow. Finally a 3 meter jump, which ends in a 3m wide and 250m long canyon, which you have to swim through completely. After that there are only 2 easy 4m jumps to do.

After a large stone on the right, almost completely surrounded by water, there are several paths on the left, steeply uphill, which all unite afterwards. Directive always upwards. Access and descent are almost more dangerous than the tour.

New large collective parking lot €5,- (incl. ID check), super tour, everything top, easy to combine with Polischellu, way back a bit long but scenic very beautiful, easy to do even without scree, after the last long swimming section there is a large rock (Steinmandl) ortographic left -> follow the marked steep path (small faded blue arrows) -> at the top at the junction right and up to the road.

From the car park, the forestry road at the entrance is to be followed until it turns into a path which can be followed until it crosses the purcaraccia and then ultimately until the canyon entry. The tour itself is beautiful and almost all drops are jumpable, some definitely require probing first due to underwater rocks. The exit follows A large boulder on Oro left side of the canyon about 80 below the last very long pool. **All access to this canyon as well as Polischelu and Purcaraccia is prohibited for anyone that is not a guide (there were police checking ids before the "easier" access to Purcaraccia. Furthermore the only approved parking for any of these 3 canyons is located at the bottom of the valley (very clear from the road) Entry to this car park is 5 euros for the day, and attendants will verify that you are either a card carrying guide or are booked on to a tour (the car park is also the start and end location for all commercial tours to these 2 canyons). Any parking outside of the allocated parking lot is apparently subject to substantial fines, and is well enforced.

On traverse la Purcarracia une première fois puis une deuxième pour arriver dans Vacca. La sente est évidente. 30 min.Magnifique canyon ludique, dans un cadre splendide ! Must do !!!!1h30 de parcours.Marche retour bien indiquée par 2 cairns en rive gauche.
