Von Salzburg Süd über die A10 bis zur Abfahrt Golling. Dann weiter auf der B102 (Lammertalstraße) Richtung Abtenau. Auf der Höhe "Voglauerhof" fährt man links über die Lammer Brücke und dann gleich wieder links vorbei am Gasthaus Ascherbad. Man folgt der Bergstraße bis zum großen Wanderparkplatz bei Pichl (N47°36´03,00 E13°17´55,00). Hier wird das Auto abgestellt und auf das Fahrrad umgesattelt. Mit dem Fahrrad folgt man der breiten (meist flachen) Forststraße für ca. 6Km (ca.20min) in Richtung Postalm bis zur Brücke über den Ackersbach (ebenfalls Canyoningtour). Hier wird das Fahrrad abgestellt. Alternative Möglichkeit Bergzugang: Über die Mautpflichtige Postalmstraße (€11,-2021) hochfahren bis 47°38'36.1" - 13°25'22.9". Hier das Auto parken und auf das Fahrrad umsteigen. Von Parkplatz beim Schranken folgt man der Forststraße mit der Wandertafel "Voglau bei Abtenau 3 1/2h", vorbei an den Almen und entlang vom Lienbach führt die breite Forststraße ca. 4km talabwärts. Hier überquert man den Zinkenbach (ebenfalls Canyoningtour) und nach weiteren 3Km gelangt man zur Brücke über den Ackersbach. Hier stellt man das Fahrrad ab.

approx. 40min+ 20min bike From Salzburg south via the A10 to the exit Golling. Then continue on the B102 (Lammertalstraße) in the direction of Abtenau. At "Voglauerhof" turn left over the Lammer bridge and then immediately left again past the Ascherbad inn. Follow the mountain road to the large parking lot for hikers near Pichl (N47°36'03,00 E13°17'55,00). Here you park your car and change to your bike. With the bike you follow the wide (mostly flat) forest road for about 6Km (ca.20min) in the direction of Postalm until you reach the bridge over the Ackersbach (also canyoning tour). Here the bike is parked. Alternative possibility  mountain access: Via the toll Postalmstraße (€11,-2021) drive up to 47°38'36.1" - 13°25'22.9". Park the car here and change to the bike. From the parking lot at the barrier, follow the forest road with the hiking sign "Voglau bei Abtenau 3 1/2h", past the alpine pastures and along the Lienbach, the wide forest road leads about 4km down the valley. Here you cross the Zinkenbach (also canyoning tour) and after another 3km you reach the bridge over the Ackersbach. Here you can leave your bike.

Direkt bei der Brücke sieht man auch schon den Wasserstand vom Gerbach, der oberhalb der Brücke in den Ackersbach mündet. Von der Brücke aus folgt man dann zu Fuß noch für ca. 100m der Forststraße weiter hoch bis zur dritten linken Abzweigung (!die ersten beiden führen zum Forsthaus). Geht man an der dritten Abzweigung vorbei kommt eine gelbe Wandertafel mit der Aufschrift „Voglau/Postalm“ (alte Postalmstraße) hier führt auch noch ein unscheinbarer Pfad zur Forststraße hoch (Karrenweg Hochzinkenalmen). Dieser folgt man zuerst im offenen Gelände, dann durch den Wald bis zur steilen Felswand und Brücke über den Gerbach auf 1080m hoch. Tipp: nach ca. 30min bergauf könnte man li. auch schon gut in die Schlucht (direkt vor der 30m Kaskade) absteigen/einsteigen (=ca. 1h Zeitersparnis).

approx. 45min Directly at the bridge you can already see the water level of the Gerbach, which flows into the Ackersbach above the bridge. From the bridge you follow the forest road for about 100m up to the third left fork (the first two lead to the forester's house). If you pass the third fork, you will see a yellow hiking sign with the inscription "Voglau/Postalm" (old Postalmstraße). Here, an inconspicuous path leads up to the forest road (Karrenweg Hochzinkenalmen). Follow this first in open terrain, then through the forest to the steep rock face and bridge over the Gerbach at 1080m high. Tip: after about 30min uphill, you could also descend/enter the canyon on the left (directly in front of the 30m cascade) (= approx. 1h time saving).

Der Gerbach ist in der Salzburger Gegend sicherlich einer der schönsten und lohnenswertesten Schluchten. Leider sind in der Schlucht einige lästige Holzverklausungen die man nicht unterschätzen soll. Wer sich für die interessante abgelegene enge Schlucht interessiert sollte unbedingt Wetter und Wasserstand checken, sowie Notbohrset und ein paar Schlingen mitführen. Wie schon beim Zustieg erwähnt kann man die Schlucht von ganz oben bei der kleinen Brücke über den Gerbach oder von weiter unten (sichtbarer Wildwechsel Pfad li.) beginnen. Gleich zu Beginn (Einstieg Brücke) kommt die erste 10m Abseilstelle im schmalen Schluchtenteil. Es folgen kleine Abklettereien und mehrere Rutschen bis zur ersten hohen 20m Abseilstelle (Kettenstand links). Um nach der Stufe zum nächsten Haken zu gelangen muss über einen Felsrücken rechts hochgeklettert werden. Danach kommen einige kurze Abseilstellen und Abkletterpassagen in eher offener Schluchtenumgebung. Nach einer 10m Abseilstelle rechts könnte man die Schlucht links zum Forstweg verlassen (einzige Möglichkeit!). Es folgt eine kurze Abkletterpassage bis man vor der schönen eingeschnittenen 30m Kaskade steht. Die Kaskade kann in einem Stück rechts von einer Bauschlinge abgeseilt werden oder man unterteilt sie (10m+20m). Nach dieser Abseilstelle bleibt es eng und kontinuierlich. Es folgen ca. 20 Abseilstellen bis max. 25m über Einzelhaken oder Baumschlingen. Achtung! Die Einzelhaken sind nicht immer gleich sichtbar und die Baumschlingen meist selbst anzubringen. Das abklettern oder sogar ein Sprung sollte jedoch gut überlegt sein (im Zweifelsfall lieber eine Schlinge opfern!). Zwischen den Abseilstufen kommen einige meist rutschige Baumverklausung die überstiegen oder abgeklettert werden müssen. Am Schluss der Tour kommt noch eine schöne 25m Abseilstelle mit einem Felsloch auf der linken Seite. Danach kommt noch eine eher flache rutschige Stecke mit zwei kurzen Abseilstellen bevor man auf ca. 800m wieder bei den Fahrrädern steht.

approx. 4-5h The Gerbach is certainly one of the most beautiful and rewarding canyons in the Salzburg area. Unfortunately, there are some annoying wooden canyons in the canyon that should not be underestimated. Who is interested in the interesting remote narrow canyon should definitely check the weather and water level, as well as carry emergency drill kit and a few slings. As already mentioned in the access, you can start the canyons from the very top at the small bridge over the Gerbach or from further down (visible deer trail on the left). Right at the beginning (entry bridge) comes the first 10m abseil in the narrow part of the gorge. Small descents and several slides follow until the first high 20m rappel point (chain anchor on the left). To get to the next anchor after the step, you have to climb up a rocky ridge on the right. After that, there are some short rappels and downclimbs in a rather open canyon environment. After a 10m abseil on the right, one could leave the canyon to the left to the forest road (the only possibility!). A short downclimb follows until you are in front of the beautiful 30m cascade. The cascade can be rappelled in one piece to the right of a construction sling or it can be divided (10m+20m). After this abseil it remains narrow and continuous. About 20 abseils follow up to max. 25m via single pitons or tree slings. Attention. The single pitons are not always immediately visible and the tree slings are mostly to be attached by yourself. However, the downclimb or even a jump should be well considered (in case of doubt rather sacrifice a sling!). Between the rappelling steps there are some mostly slippery tree entanglements that have to be climbed over or downclimbed. At the end of the tour there is a nice 25m rappel with a rock hole on the left side. After that comes a rather flat slippery section with two short rappels before you are back at the bikes at about 800m.

(mit Bike) Von der Brücke (Einmündung Ackersbach) folgt man der Forststraße mit dem Fahrrad wieder zurück zum Parkplatz nach Pichl runter.
