Wie beim Casenda: Von Chiavenna fahren wir auf der SS 36 etwa 9,5 km in Richtung Lecco, Sondrio (also nach Süden). Wir kommen zu einem Kreisverkehr (am südlichen Ende der Ortschaft Somaggia) und biegen hier ab in Richtung Samolaco, Era (nach WSW). Bei dem Weiler Ponte Nave überqueren wir den Fiume Mera. Wenige Meter jenseits des Flusses biegen wir halblinks ab nach Casenda.Wir durchqueren die Ortschaft und treffen auf die Via Casenda, die am Hangfuss entlang läuft. Auf dieser Straße links, bis wir zur Brücke über den Torrente Casenda kommen. Hier stellen wir das untere Auto ab. Mit dem zweiten Auto fahren wir zurück nach Casenda, biegen dann in der Ortschaft links hinauf ab in Richtung Paiedo. Die Straße vereinigt sich auf 285m üNN mit einer von Norden heraufkommenden Straße. Weiter bergan kommen wir etwa 500m nach der 5. Linkskehre zur Abzweigung der Piste, die zum unteren Einstieg bei der Wasserableitung führt. Wir fahren weiter bergauf und nach 3 weiteren Linkskehren erreichen wir die Ortschaft Paiedo (900m üNN). Hier parken wir das zweite Auto.

As for the Casenda: from Chiavenna we take the SS 36 for about 9.5 km in the direction of Lecco, Sondrio (that is, south). We come to a traffic circle (at the southern exit of the village of Somaggia) and here we turn towards Samolaco, Era (to WSW). At the hamlet of Ponte Nave we cross the Fiume Mera. A few meters beyond the river we turn half-left towards Casenda.We cross the village and meet Via Casenda, which runs along the foot of the slope. On this road we turn left until we reach the bridge over the Torrente Casenda. Here we leave the lower car. With the second car we go back to Casenda, then in the village we turn left uphill towards Paiedo. The road joins a road coming up from the north at 285m above sea level. Continuing uphill, about 500m after the 5th leftward haipin bend, we come to the junction of the dirt road that leads to the lower entry at the water diversion. We continue uphill and after 3 more leftward haipin bends we reach the village of Paiedo (900m a.s.l.). Here we park the second car.

Für den Zustieg von Paiedo an den Start im Val Piccola gibt es offenbar 2 Möglichkeiten. Wir sind im Wesentlichen der Zustiegsbeschreibung bei "descente-canyon.com" gefolgt. Dabei geht es zuerst von Paiedo in etwa horizontal nach Süden. Nach etwa 300m (und 100m vor der ersten Bachquerung - Foto Nr. 5) verzweigt sich der Pfad (Foto Nr. 4). Links hinunter geht es direkt zum Casenda-Einstieg. Wir bleiben rechts und gewinnen an Höhe. Wir queren das Valle Casenda und steigen am Gegenhang weiter an, bis wir den Rücken zwischen Casenda und Val Piccola erreichen (auf etwa 1030m üNN). Auf diesem Rücken gehen wir abwärts (Foto Nr. 9), bis wir auf etwa 970m üNN auf einen kleinen, aber markanten Einschnitt treffen (Foto Nr. 10). Hier sehen wir von links unten einen verwachsenen Pfad heraufziehen (Foto Nr. 11). Diesem folgen wir nun nach rechts (Foto Nr. 12) bis zum Bachbett des Val Piccola (Foto Nr. 13).\nDer alternative Zustieg nimmt an der ersten Pfadverzweigung (Foto Nr. 4) die Spur hinunter zum Einstieg in den Casenda. Dann quert man den Casenda und klettert - wahrscheinlich ziemlich weglos - hinauf zu dem oben erwähnten kleinen, aber markanten Einschnitt (Foto Nr. 10 u. 11). Von hier dann wie oben beschrieben weiter zum Bachbett des Val Piccola (Foto 12 u. 13). Dieser Zustieg kann in der folgenden OSM-Karte nachvollzogen werden: http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=15/46.2232/9.3855\nDer von uns gewählte Zustieg kann auf der Skizze im Buch Canyoning Nord Italia (v.Duin) in etwa wahrgenommen werden (Seite162), allerdings scheint in diesem Buch sowohl die Skizze wie auch die Beschreibung dazu ziemlich unscharf.

For the access from Paiedo to the start in Val Piccola there are apparently 2 possibilities. We have essentially followed the access description at "descente-canyon.com". Thereby it goes first from Paiedo in about horizontal to the south. After about 300m (and 100m before the first stream crossing - photo no. 5) the path branches (photo no. 4). Descending to the left, it goes directly to the Casenda entry. We stay to the right and gain altitude. We cross Valle Casenda and continue climbing on the opposite slope until we reach the ridge between Casenda and Val Piccola (at about 1030m a.s.l.). On this ridge we descend (photo n. 9) until we meet a small but striking gulch at about 970m a.s.l. (photo n. 10). Here we see an overgrown path coming up from the lower left (photo no. 11). Follow it to the right (photo no. 12) until you reach the streambed of Val Piccola (photo no. 13).\nThe alternative access takes the track down to the Casenda entry at the first path junction (photo no. 4). Then cross the Casenda and climb - probably quite pathless - up to the above mentioned small but striking gulch (photo nos. 10 and 11). From here continue as described above to the streambed of Val Piccola (photo 12 and 13). This access can be traced on the following OSM map: http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=15/46.2232/9.3855\nThe access we chose can be roughly perceived on the sketch in the book Canyoning Nord Italia (v.Duin) (page162), but in this book both the sketch and the description seem rather blurred.

Entweder bei der Wasserableitung hinaus und auf dem Waldweg zur Auffahrtsstraße (Era - Paiedo) oder Fortsetzung des Abstiegs unterhalb der Wasserableitung im Casenda.

Either exit at the water diversion and take the forest road to the access road (Era - Paiedo) or continue the descent below the water diversion in the Casenda.
