In Cilaos, in the Cirque (cauldron) of the same name, we park our car for the exit where the connecting road from the hamlet of Ilet à Cördes comes up from the valley of Bras Rouge.\n\nFrom Cilaos we then take the 2nd autödie D 242 via Ilet Dijoux and continue in the direction of Ilet à Cordes. After 4.1 km we cross the Bras Rouges and after about 7 km in total (from Cilaos/junction D241/D242) we come to the bridge over the Fleurs Jaunes. Park the car here.

From the bridge we walk about 350 m in open terrain, orienting ourselves to the left along the stream to the first abseiling point.

Tour (6 h): traduction alternative ➜

Now follow 7 to 9 rappel (depending on possible refraction). Here you can partly cut the rope so that you slide out of the rope from a certain height and fall into the pool below. Highlight are the 2 longer chutes at the exit of the tour described here, starting with the C55, which in the meantime can also be broken. After the aforementioned 3 consecutive rappels (55 m, 35 m, 20 m), we climb down over boulders for a few more meters. \nDuring the descent, views of the impressive scenic landscape open up steadily.\n\nThen a possible exit goes up through a steep chute ('Jacomedie') to the rocks of Marmailles and from here over a ridge up to the viewpoint at the road. From on the road in a westerly direction back to Auto\n\nThe integral ascent leads us about 850m or 1 hour along the left bank of the stream down to the 'dalles', which are pools of a larger and almost flat granite surface before reaching Bras Rouge. To this we now descend about 100 meters almost vertically.\nAt the bottom, the gloomy "Chapelle" awaits us at the exit of the tour.\n\nAlternatively, you can rappel directly into the Chapelle through the split block, but then needs at least 1x100m rope + 1x60m + 1x40m, see topographic view.

From the "Chapelle" a few hundred meters downstream, then we take the footpath up to the left. An intermediate descent of almost 100 meters of altitude brings us down to the footpath of Ilet à Cordes. On this up to the road in Cilaos, where our car is.

Top tour, with great weather and beautiful water levels. Amazing views! Super set up. Did it together with Mini Fleur Jaunes and then got out via the steep gully. About 45 minutes back to the car with great views.

Also the only one that was not slippery! Approach: 2 hours; canyon: 5 hours; retour: 10 mins; excellent equipment; the "inf" part is the logical continuation of the med. It should not be down alone! And it stays still very beautiful. We were getting out after the enclosed section, where a small path with ropes leads you back to the main road in 10 minutes. All stands tip top. Currently very little water. Great canyon, which is rather untypical for La Réunion, because little jungle feeling, except in the walking passage. The C58 is a mega slide that can be cut to length at will.
