Für den Zustieg empfehlen wir Grödel oder Steigeisen. In der Schlucht sind diese nicht nötig. Den hohen Wasserfall kann bei diesem Wasserstand direkt abgeseilt werden.

We recommend using crampons or grödel for access. These are not necessary in the canyon. The high waterfall can be rappelled directly at this water level.

Il y avait quand même du rab sur notre 70m (sans le fractionnement). Superbe canyon, par contre la 56m ne les fait pas du tout, on est plus 65m !!!! Du coup on a laisser nos deux cordes sur place malheureusement... 0°C at 2900 meters, no snow or ice in the canyon. Bridges were removed for winter, so we chose to start at the right section ('bras central'). Anchors are of good quality. Mostly single bolts; high rappels with double bolts. We did the C56 with the D7 and D48. Tricky (but not too hard) to reach the anchor of the D48; and easy to spot from above. With a 50m rappel rope we barely made it to the ground (the last person ended up 2 meters above the ground). We would advise to take a longer rope (55+m). Most bolts are well placed so you can stay clear of the water. Siphons were not a problem, easy to shunt or go through. Beautiful and impressive trip!

Primera vez. Nivel de agua en entrada creemos que normal, una vez dentro pasadas las horas notamos un incremento de agua por deshielo sin problemas. Anclajes bien, sin apenas hielo excepto al principio un poco.

First time. Water level at the entrance we think normal, once inside after a few hours we noticed an increase of water due to thawing without problems. Anchorages well, with hardly any ice except at the beginning a little bit.

Concentration et ambiance incroyable lors de la plongée de 60m dans l'entaille obscure qui parait sans fond ! A partir de là, parcours irréel dans l'obscurité. Ce grand rappel est la principale difficulté et passe sportivement par ce débit correct (qui est déjà important en comparaison d'autres canyon) ; mais en cas de doute sur le débit qui de toute façon doit rester très correct, la déviation pour se décaler au plus loin sera très souhaitable voir impérative pour garantir une bonne sécurité tout en restant très bien arrosé sur la 2ème moitié de la descente !!!MAJEUR mais entre l'isolement, le débit lié au glacier, le risque de gel sur les parois, l'éclairage (puissant et étanche), ce canyon mérite une bonne expérience, la plus grande prudence possible et une part de chance pour la météo (température notamment) afin que tout soit réuni le jour J ou la semaine S !
