Von der Stadt Basse-Terre auf der gleichnamigen westlichen Inselhälfte von Guadeloupe geht es auf der Küstenstraße 10,7 km (ab Flugplatz Basse-Terre) nordwärts (über die Ortschaft Vieux-Habitants), bis man zur Brücke über den Fluss Beaugendre kommt. Vor der Brücke über den Fluss und vor der Ortschaft Marigot auf der anderen Seite des Flusses biegen wir rechts ab und fahren am orograf. linken Flussufer in nordöstlicher Richtung. Nach 4,4 km auf teils reparaturbedürftiger und schmaler Teerstraße - bergauf und bergab - erreichen wir eine Verzweigung der Straße. Hier stellen wir das Auto ab.

From the town of Basse-Terre on the western half of the island of the same name of Guadeloupe, go north on the coastal road for 10.7 km (from the airport of Basse-Terre) (via the village of Vieux-Habitants) until you reach the bridge over the river Beaugendre. Vom abgestellten Auto gehts es auf der Teerstraße rechts hinauf weiter. Nach 1000 m wird die Teerstraße zur Piste und diese kreuzt gut 50 m weiter einen Bach, unseren Bach, den Dufour ("La Ti Punch"). Hier steigen wir ein.

Bei einer kräftigen Bambusstaude auf der linken Seite des Baches steigen wir vor den letzten und nicht eingesicherten Stufen hinunter zum Beaugendre nach links aus und erreichen auf einer Piste in wenigen Minuten unser Auto.
