Wir biegen bei der Ausfahrt Murnau/Kochel von der A95 (München-Garmisch) fahren nach Kochel. Hier nehmen wir die B11 (Kesselbergstraße) in südlicher Richtung (Mittenwald). Die Straße führt uns zunächst am See entlang und wir passieren den Campingplatz Renken (rechterhand am See). 300m weiter biegt rechts die Straße zum Kraftwerk Walchensee, Aparthotel Alpenpark und Campingplatz Kesselberg ab (Altjoch). Nach weiteren 300m quert die Straße den Heckenbach (Ausstieg, Blick auf den Schlusswasserfall). Wir fahren nun noch einmal etwas mehr als 1300m auf der B11 bergauf und biegen dann auf einen Park- und Rast-Platz nach rechts ab. Hier stellen wir das Auto für den Ausstieg am Ende vom I. Abschnitt ab. Mit dem 2. Auto fahren wir auf der Kesselbergstraße noch 1,7km weiter (alternativ zu Fuß auf der alten Kesselberstraße) und biegen dort rechts ab auf die alte Kesselbergstraße.

We leave the A95 (Munich-Garmisch) at the Murnau/Kochel exit and drive to Kochel. Here we take the B11 (Kesselbergstraße) in a southerly direction (Mittenwald). The road initially leads us along the lake and we pass the Renken campsite (righthand side of the lake). 300m further on, the road to the Walchensee power station, Aparthotel Alpenpark and Kesselberg campsite turns off to the right (Altjoch). After another 300m, the road crosses the Heckenbach (exit, view of the final waterfall). We now continue uphill on the B11 for just over 1300m and then turn right into a parking and rest area. Here we park the car for the exit at the end of part I. With the 2nd car, we continue on the Kesselbergstraße for another 1.7km (alternatively on foot on the old Kesselbergstraße) and turn right onto the old Kesselbergstraße.

Zustieg vom oberen Parkplatz zunächst auf Forstweg, im Anschluß dann auf Steig gemäß Skizze bei Fotoalbum.
