Von Garmisch-Partenkirchen auf der B2 nach Norden (Richtung München) fahrend erreichen wir nach etwa 10 km die Ortsmitte von Oberau. Wenige Meter vor dem Autohaus Fischer auf der Westseite der Ortsdurchfahrt biegen wir rechts ab (nach Osten) in Richtung Bahnhof. Dann aber nicht geradeaus zum Bahnhof, sondern sofort wieder rechts auf die Werdenfelser Straße. 140 m weiter queren wir die Bahn-Gleise, um sofort rechts auf die Flößerstraße abzubiegen. 250 m weiter kommen wir über die Loisachbrücke, nehmen dann unmittelbar nach den Häusern zur Linken die links abbiegende Straße "An der Loisachbrücke" und stellen etzwa 150 m weiter unser Auto links am Rande der großen Freifläche ab.

Driving north from Garmisch-Partenkirchen on the B2 (towards Munich), we reach the center of Oberau after about 10 km. A few meters before the Fischer car dealership on the west side of the through road, we turn right (east) towards the train station. However, do not go straight on to the station, but immediately turn right again onto Werdenfelser Straße. 140 m further on, we cross the railroad tracks and immediately turn right onto Flößerstraße. 250 m further on we cross the Loisach bridge, then immediately after the houses on the left take the road "An der Loisachbrücke" which turns left and park our car on the left at the edge of the large open space about 150 m further on.

Zurück bis fast zur Loisachbrücke, vor dieser aber links ab auf die Straße, die in südlicher Richtung nach Farchant führt. Auf dieser Straße 500m, dann knickt die Straße nach rechts. An dieser Stelle halten wir uns geradeaus in südöstlicher Richtung (Wegweiser "Wasserfall"). Zunächst an der Fahrmannslaine entlang, dann einen Golfplatz passierend kommen wir zum Bachbett und kreuzen dieses auf die nördliche Seite. Dort nehmen wir den Steig, der bachnah in südöstlicher Richtuing hinaufzieht und an einer Bank endet. Hier hat man den Blick auf den Schlusswasserfall und kann den Wasserdurchsatz beurteilen. Nun wieder wenige Meter auf dem Steig zurück und dann einem undeutlichen Steig rechts in nordöstlicher Richtung aufwärts folgen. Die Wegspuren verlieren sich sukzessive. Weglos geht es weiter hinauf. Etwa auf 980m üNN sucht man den Abstieg in das hier noch offene Geröll-Bachbett. Wenn man den kleinen Einstiegswasserfall am Beginn der Einschluchtung sehen kann, ist es optimal.

Back almost to the Loisach bridge, but before this turn left onto the road that leads south to Farchant. Follow this road for 500m, then the road bends to the right. At this point we keep straight on in a south-easterly direction (signpost "Wasserfall"). First along the Fahrmannslaine, then passing a golf course, we come to the streambed and cross it to the northern side. There we take the path that goes up close to the stream in a south-easterly direction and exits at a bench. Here you have a view of the final waterfall and can assess the water flow. Now follow the path back a few meters and then follow an indistinct path to the right in a north-easterly direction uphill. The tracks gradually disappear. Continue upwards without a path. At around 980m above sea level, look for the descent into the still open scree streambed. If you can see the small entry waterfall at the beginning of the gorge, it is ideal.

Schnell kommen wir zur ersten Verengung mit dem ersten kleineren Abseiler. Danach folgen mehrere (auch höhere) Abseiler (insgesamt 8 bis zum Schlusswasserfall). Am Schlusswasserfall (52m) war 2013 der große Haken im Bachbett umgeschlagen, sodass wir von dem großen Baum rechts abseilen mussten (dafür 60m Seillänge). Weiter abkletternd steigt man dann rechts zur Bank aus.

We quickly come to the first narrowing with the first smaller rappel. This is followed by several (also higher) rappels (8 in total up to the final waterfall). At the final waterfall (52m), the large anchor in the streambed was knocked over in 2013, so we had to rappel from the large tree on the right (60m rope length). Climbing further down, you then exit to the right to the bench.
