Leave the Swiss highway St. Gallen - Sargans (- Chur) at the Haag exit and head west to Gams and from there up the mountain in serpentines in the direction of Zurich. At the top you pass through the village of Wildhaus and a few kilometers further you come to Unterwasser (about 17 km from the highway exit Haag).

From the parking lot in a northerly direction take the footpath "to the Thur waterfalls". First along the orographic left bank of the stream, but at the junction do not continue left in the streambed to the Thur waterfalls, but straight up. After the entry at the bridge soon the first larger pool with the "siphon". About 7 rappels follow up to max. 13 m in the not very deep canyon. Then you come to the Thur waterfalls (gauging station). If you want to rappel in the water channel, you hang 2x30m of ropes on the railing. In dry weather, however, you come to a so-called Marmita Trampa, from which an exit is not so easy. It is better to go down a few steps and rope from the side 14 m directly to the belaystation above the last waterfall, thus bypassing the Marmita Trampa. Then it is enough to take 2x15 m of rope.

Johann/Unterwasser/Chlostobel) 0,04m3/sek an.Nass wurden wir bloss beim durchschwimmen des Restwassers in den Pools.Im unteren Teil der Schlucht mussten wir zweimal improvisieren da es zum abklettern arg rutschig war, da könnte das nächste Team vieleicht eine Sanduhr bohren (da es im Winter, mit dem Eis, wohl kaum weniger rutschig sein wird ;-) ) (Quelle: https://www.descente-canyon.com/canyoning/canyon-debit/22002/observations.html)
