Von Tolmezzo Richtung Verzegnis und weiter über den Sella Chianzutan ins Arzinotal. Nach einiger Zeit auf der SP1 fährt man über den Arzinobach. Danach folgt man der Straße nur noch wenige 100m bis zur Bushaltestelle/Ausweiche vor der Beschilderung Pielungo 1Km, Clauzetto 11Km, Tramonti 24Km, Grotte Pradis. Hier kann das Auto rechts geparkt werden.

From Tolmezzo head towards Verzegnis and continue over the Sella Chianzutan into the Arzinotal valley. After some time on the SP1, drive over the Arzinobach. Then follow the road for just a few hundred meters to the bus stop/exit before the signs for Pielungo 1km, Clauzetto 11km, Tramonti 24km, Grotte Pradis. Here you can park your car on the right.

Von der Parkmöglichkeit folgt man der Beschilderung rechts in Richtung der Ortschaft Pielungo hinauf. Keine 100m nach der Abzweigung an der Stelle wo bei einer Rechtskurve die Leitschiene (links) unterbrochen ist führt ein gut sichtbarer Pfad zum Bach/Einstieg auf ca. 370m hinunter. Um den Wasserstand vor der Tour zu kontrollieren kann man der Straße SP1 vom Parkplatz weiter kurz gerade aus bis zur Brücke die über den Rio Carlo Gaspirini führt folgen. Hier sieht man schon die letzten Stufen der Tour.

From the parking lot, follow the signs to the right in the direction of the village of Pielungo. Less than 100m after the junction, at the point where the guardrail (left) is interrupted at a right-hand bend, a clearly visible path leads down to the stream/entry at approx. 370m. To check the water level before the tour, you can follow the SP1 road from the parking lot straight on to the bridge over the Rio Carlo Gaspirini. Here you can already see the last steps of the tour.

Gleich nach dem kurzen Zustieg kommt die erste kleine Stufe die meist gerutscht wird. Es folgt ein ca. 18m Abseiler in die nun eingeschnittene und dünklere Schlucht. Schöne Auswaschungen und Windungen führen zu einem großen Fels der in der Engstelle den Weg versperrt. Je nach Gegebenheit wird hier durchgeschlüpft oder von Einzellhaken rechts abgeseilt. Danach kommen die letzten Abseilstellen kurz aufeinander 7m, 10m, 3m und 20m. Der Standplatz für die letzte Abseilstelle die direkt in den Arzinobach führt kann mittels Seilgeländer sicher erreicht werden. Alternativ kann die letzte 20m Stufe auch 15m in eine Auswaschung abgeseilt und der Rest in den Arzinobach gerutscht werden. Da der Rio Carlo Gasparini ohne Ausstiegsmöglichkeit in den schönen Arzinobach mündet, muss in diesem noch ca. 200m ohne große Hindernisse geschwommen werden. Nach der schönen eingeschnittenen Schwimmpassage öffnet sich die Schlucht und man sieht rechts eine große schräge Felsplatte wo man gleich danach auf den Schotterbett rechts ohne Probleme auf ca. 300m aus dem Bach Aussteigen kann (hier nicht weiterschwimmen da der weitere Bachverlauf größere Gefahrenstellen aufweist).

Immediately after the short access comes the first small step, which is mostly a slide. This is followed by an approx. 18m rappel into the now incised and thinner canyon. Beautiful washouts and twists lead to a large rock that blocks the way in the narrow section. Depending on the conditions, either slip through here or rappel right from single bolts. Then come the last abseiling points, 7m, 10m, 3m and 20m in quick succession. The belay station for the last abseil point, which leads directly into the Arzinobach, can be reached safely using a rope traverse. Alternatively, the last 20m step can also be rappelled 15m into a washout and the rest slid into the Arzinobach. As the Rio Carlo Gasparini flows into the beautiful Arzinobach without an exit option, you have to swim another 200m without any major obstacles. After the beautiful incised swimming passage, the canyon opens up and you can see a large sloping rock slab on the right where you can get out of the stream immediately afterwards on the gravel bed on the right for about 300m without any problems (do not continue swimming here as the further course of the stream has major danger spots).

Etwa 100m nach der Klamm rechts über Felsplatten in den Wald aufsteigen um einen schlecht sichtbaren Steig zu erreichen der rechts zurück zum Parkplatz führt. Man sollte sich nicht dazu verführen lassen weiter im Arzino in Richtung La Foce zu schwimmen. Am Anfang der nächsten Klamm lauert ein Siphon und bald danach eine rückläufige Stufe. Erkundung von der Strasse aus möglich. 2018 war der Siphon zu und die Stufe mit Seilunterstützung überwindbar. Achtung: im Weissweisser versteckt sich links ein Block

About 100m after the gorge, climb up to the right over rock slabs into the forest to reach a poorly visible path that leads back to the parking lot on the right. Don't be tempted to swim further in the Arzino towards La Foce. A siphon lurks at the beginning of the next gorge and soon after that a declining step. Can be explored from the road. In 2018, the siphon was closed and the steps could be negotiated with rope support. Caution: there is a block hidden in the Weissweisser on the left
