Von Kötschach-Mauthen fährt man Richtung Kirchbach --> in Kirchbach über die Gailbrücke nach Stranig --> durch den Ort Stranig fahren und bei der Auffahrt zur Straninger Alm den Forstweg li hoch fahren --> auf ca. 930Hm den 1. Pkw neben der Straße Parken (nur wenige Parkplätze) --> mit dem 2. Pkw fährt man die Forststraße weiter hoch bis auf ca. 1360Hm --> vor der kleinen Holzbrücke re oder li Parken.

Gleich am Anfang kommt eine nicht zu unterschätzende kurze Abseilstelle mit Baumstumpf-Siphon --> es folgen einige kleine Kletterpassagen und kleine Rutschen (viel Holz) --> um die darauf folgende ca. 15m Abseilstelle sicher zu erreichen sollte ein Seilgeländer über einen großen Stein li eingerichtet werden --> im weiteren Schluchtenverlauf kommen mehrere mittelhohe Stufen in Gumpen und einige meist problemlose Geh-und Kletterpassagen --> nach einer ca. 3m Rutsche und einen Zufluss von re folgt man das immer flacher werdende Bachbett bis zur Betonverbauung --> hier verlässt man li die Schlucht.

Vor der Betonverbauung li den Bach verlassen --> über einen nicht gut erkennbaren Pfad steil durch den Wald hochgehen bis man auf einen Forstweg trifft --> diesen bis zum Parkplatz (1.Pkw) folgen.
