Von Ierapetra westwärts am Meer entlang (selten zu sehen) nach Myrtos (14 km). An der Ortschaft vorbei wendet sich die Straße (Nr. 97) Richtung Ano Viannos ins Landesinnere und zieht bergan. Nach 11 km (ab Myrtos) biegen wir links (südwärts) ab und fahren hinunter nach Kalami (1 km weiter gibt es eine zweite Möglichkeit hinunter zu fahren). Wir passieren die Ortschaft und fahren weiter in Richtung Meer (Sidonia/Psari Forada) parallel zu dem rechts unterhalb fließenden Bach. An der Hangkante (rechts unterhalb der Canyon Kalami I) macht die Straße zuerst einen Bogen nach links, fällt steiler ab und zieht dann nach rechts am Hang entlang. In einer markanten Linkskurve nehmen wir die rechts abbiegende Piste. Sie zieht gleichmäßig abwärts und wir erreichen (linkshaltend) einen Platz vor der Kapelle Moni Keralimaniostisos. Hier stellen wir das Auto ab.

From Ierapetra westward along the sea (rarely seen) to Myrtos (14 km). Passing the village, the road (No. 97) turns inland towards Ano Viannos and goes uphill. After 11 km (from Myrtos) we turn left (southward) and go down to Kalami (1 km further there is a second possibility to go down). We pass the village and continue towards the sea (Sidonia/Psari Forada) parallel to the stream flowing below on the right. At the edge of the slope (Canyon Kalami I on the right below), the road first curves to the left, drops more steeply and then moves to the right along the slope. In a prominent left turn, we take the dirt road that turns right. It descends steadily and we reach (keeping left) a place in front of the chapel of Moni Keralimaniostisos. Here we park the car.

Von der Kapelle folgen wir weiter der abwärts führenden Piste und queren 300 m weiter den Bach (Furt). Jenseits führt die Piste durch Olivenhaine aufwärts. Nach einer Rechts- und einer Links-Serpentine beschreibt die Piste eine Rechts- und anschließend eine Links-Kurve. Hier (800 m ab Kapelle) die linke Piste nehmen, die zuerst westwärts, dann in südlicher Richtung langsam bergan führt. Nach den drei markanten Kurven (rechts, rechts und links), bei der nächsten Verzweigung (1800 m ab Kapelle) nicht geradeaus, sondern links und dann unmittelbar darauf wieder rechts bei der folgenden Verzweigung. Diese Piste zieht nun in nordwestlicher Richtung und wir stoßen wenig später auf eine T-Kreuzung. Hier rechts und immer - kaum merklich - bergan Richtung Norden, später dann nach Osten. Wir queren dann das Bachbett des Xeropharago/Kalami II, das nur deshalb als solches zu erkennen ist, weil rechts ein entsprechender Wegweiser (anno 2008) steht (3600 m ab Kapelle). Wir folgen der Piste weiter. Sie macht einen Linksbogen und man sieht den Bach (ggf. mit Wasserfall). Nach 700 m geht rechts eine schlechtere Piste ab. Hier parkt man ggf. das zweite Auto (4x4 oder viel Bodenfreiheit benötigt). Etwa 200 m auf dieser Piste, dann den besten Zustieg zum Bach suchen. Man kann auch schon etwa 150 m vor Erreichen der letztgenannten Abzweigung am Hang vor dem markanten Felsen rechts queren und nach der Kante dann auch weglos, aber direkter hinunter zum Bach. Wer es gerne steiler und direkter haben will, geht von der Kapelle ca. 150m auf der Zufahrtspiste zurück und nimmt dann die Abzweigung in spitzem Winkel nach links. Sie bringt uns nordwärts zum Bach knapp oberhalb des Ausstiegs des Xeropharago. Hier weglos und steil einige Meter hinab ins Bachbett, in diesem ca. 25m bachab und dann rechts hinaus. Wir folgen von da den Steinmännchen weglos in nördlicher Richtunh bergauf. Nach Erreichen einer kleinen Hochfläche etwa horizontal weiter bis zur Piste, die dann unmittelbar wieder über den unscheinbaren Beginn des Xeropharago führt. Weiter dann wie oben beschrieben.

From the chapel we continue to follow the descending slope and 300 m further we cross the stream (ford). Beyond, the track goes up through olive groves. After a right and a left serpentine, the track describes a right and then a left bend. Here (800 m from the chapel) take the left slope, which leads first westward, then slowly uphill in a southerly direction. After the three prominent bends (right, right and left), at the next junction (1800 m from Kapelle) do not go straight on, but left and then immediately right again at the following junction. This track now moves in a northwesterly direction and we come across a T-junction a little later. Here right and always - hardly noticeably - uphill towards the north, then later towards the east. We then cross the streambed of the Xeropharago/Kalami II, which is only recognizable as such because there is a corresponding signpost (anno 2008) on the right (3600 m from the chapel). We continue to follow the track. It makes a left turn and we see the stream (possibly with waterfall). After 700 m there is a worse track on the right. Here you can park the second car if necessary (4x4 or much ground clearance needed). About 200 m on this slope, then look for the best access to the creek. You can also cross to the right about 150 m before reaching the latter junction on the slope in front of the prominent rock and after the edge then also pathless, but more directly down to the creek. If you want it steeper and more direct, go back from the chapel about 150m on the access track and then take the junction at a sharp angle to the left. It takes us northwards to the stream just above the exit of the Xeropharago. Here we descend steeply and pathlessly for a few meters into the streambed, downstream for about 25m and then out to the right. From there we follow the cairns uphill in a northerly direction. After reaching a small plateau, continue approximately horizontally until you reach the track, which then immediately leads again over the inconspicuous beginning of the Xeropharago. Continue as described above.

Noch vor dem letzten Wasserfall entweder durch den schmalen Spalt links hinaus und auf der Hangkante hinunter (rechts unten ebene Fläche mit Trafostation) bis zur Piste. Oder noch einen weiteren Abseiler hinunter unter den großen Deckstein und dort dann links hianaus auf die Piste. Auf dieser etwa 600 m südwärts bis zur Anfahrtspiste. Hier dann rechts hinunter zur Kapelle. Alternativ an der ersten Linkskurve weglos re. hinunter zu dem Haus und von da zur Kapelle.

Before the last waterfall, either exit through the narrow gap on the left and descend on the slope edge (on the right below flat area with transformer station) to the slope. Or another rappel down under the large capstone and then left out onto the slope. Follow it for about 600 m southwards to the approach slope. Here turn right down to the chapel. Alternatively, at the first left-hand bend, descend without a trail to the right to the house and from there to the chapel.
