Ausstiegsparkplatz: Von Ampezzo über Forno di sotto auf der SS52 bis zur hohen Brücke über den Rio Marodia. Parkmöglichkeit für 5 Autos auf der linken Seite. Einstiegsparkplatz: ca. 2km Richtung Forno di sotto bis zu einem kleinen Sattel bei der Sant'Antonio-Kapelle. Links auf die Asphaltstraße abzweigen und immer links bleibend über eine Brücke zu einer Parkmöglichkeit am Ende der Straße. Alternativ kann man auch der Asphaltstraße nach rechts Richtung Fienili Chiampì folgen und bei der Abzweigung der für den öffentlichen Verkehr gesperrten aber gut befahrbaren Straße in Richtung Fienili Preson parken.

Parking exit: From Ampezzo via Forno di sotto on the SS52 to the high bridge over the Rio Marodia. Parking for 5 cars on the left-hand side. Parking entry: approx. 2km in the direction of Forno di sotto as far as a small saddle near the Sant'Antonio chapel. Turn left onto the asphalt road and keep left over a bridge to a parking area at the exit of the road. Alternatively, you can follow the asphalt road to the right towards Fienili Chiampì and park at the junction of the road towards Fienili Preson, which is closed to public traffic but easy to drive on.

Über den Wanderweg CAI 212 knapp 1000hm in die Forcella Rancolin (1874m) folgen. In der Scharte gleich ins Tal des Rio Marodia absteigen, von dem in der Tabaccomap eingezeichneten Steig gibts nur mehr wenige Markierungspunkte, es geht zunächst über Wiesen bis zum Beginn eines trockenen Bachbett abwärts, ab 1700m dann mit einem kleinen Gerinne über unschwierige Blöcke hinunter. Der Steig quert bei 1576 oberhalb von einem ersten höheren Wasserfall nach rechts hinaus (Latschengasse). Eigentlich wäre dieser Steig eine gute Zustiegsoption, der Sturm Vaia von 2018 hat im Bereich westlich der Schlucht aber enorme und noch nicht aufgeräumte Windschäden hinterlassen. Ein Aufstiegsversuch 2021 endete dort auf 1400m im Baumchaos. Den ersten Wasserfall links hinter Blöcken umklettern, der folgende ca. 60m hohen schräge Wasserfall kann von rechts über Latschen abgeseilt werden, oder links über Schotter umklettert werden. Unten noch kurz im Kiesbett abwärts bevor der Bach auf Grundgestein trifft.

Follow the CAI 212 hiking trail for just under 1000m to the Forcella Rancolin (1874m). At the saddle, descend immediately into the valley of the Rio Marodia, there are only a few markers left of the path marked on the tabacco map, it first descends across meadows to the beginning of a dry streambed, then from 1700m down a small channel over easy boulders. The path crosses to the right at 1576 above the first higher waterfall (Latschengasse). This path would actually be a good approach option, but the Vaia storm of 2018 left enormous wind damage in the area west of the canyon, which has not yet been cleared up. An attempted ascent in 2021 exited there at 1400m in tree chaos. Climb around the first waterfall on the left behind boulders, the following approx. 60m high sloping waterfall can be rappelled from the right over mountain pines, or climbed around on the left over gravel. At the bottom, descend briefly in the gravel bed before the stream meets bedrock.

Der Bach schneidet sich schnell in eine ca. 10m tiefe Klamm im Grundgestein ein, viele Becken und viele kleine Abseiler die manchmal auch gerutscht oder gesprungen (7m max.) werden können. Der Durchfluss wird durch viele Quellen immer größer. Wir haben einige Haken gesetzt, mehrere Passagen müssen aber abgeklettert oder von natürlichen Fixpunkten abgeseilt werden. Einige Abseiler gehen über mehrere Becken, unbedingt vor Seilabzug versichern, dass man auch den nächsten Abseilpunkt erreichen kann. Danach öffnet sich die Schlucht kurz, über kleine Rutschen bis zu einer 16m Stufe und danach zu einem 25m Wasserfall, bei den man von einer kleinen Plattform links auch 10m springen kann. Ab hier in bis zu 30m tiefer Klamm mit schönen Passagen, die aktuell leider auch mit einigen Bäumen garniert ist. Nach der Klamm abklettern, bis ein 18m Abseiler das Ende der Schlucht markiert. Kurz abklettern bis zu einer künstlichen Stufe.

The stream quickly cuts into a gorge of about 10m depth in the bedrock, many pools and many small rappels which can sometimes be slid or jumped (7m max.). The flow is constantly increasing due to the many springs. We have set some anchors, but several passages have to be downclimbed or rappelled from natural fixed points. Some rappels go over several pools, make sure you can reach the next anchor before the rope retrival. The canyon then opens up briefly, via small slides to a 16m step and then to a 25m waterfall, where you can also jump 10m from a small platform on the left. From here in a gorge up to 30m deep with beautiful passages, which unfortunately is currently garnished with some trees. After the gorge, downclimb until an 18m rappel marks the exit of the canyon. Short downclimb to an artificial step.

Orographisch links über den Schotterhang hinauf, oben quert dann ein Steig hinaus der bald eine sehr deutliche Wegtrasse erreicht, hier nicht über die Treppenstufen rechts runter (Zustieg zum unteren Teil) sondern auf dem querenden Steig links bleiben und teilweise mit Drahtseilen gesichert bequem zum Parkplatz absteigen.

Orographically left up over the gravel slope, then at the top a path crosses out which soon reaches a very clear path, here do not go down the steps on the right (access to the lower part) but stay left on the crossing path and descend comfortably to the parking lot, partly secured with wire ropes.
