Auf der SS13 von Österreich in Richtung Süden fahren und bei Chiusaforte links abbiegen ins Raccolana-Tal. Auf der Straße SP76 bleiben für ca 6,2km, bis man zur kleinen Ortschaft „Saletto“ kommt. Bei der Ortseinfahrt noch auf der SP76 bleiben danach kommt man an einer Bushaltestelle vorbei und gleich dahinter – links – befindet sich die Brücke über die Raccolana. Hier links abbiegen. Der Straße für ca 800m in die kleine Häuseransammlung „Chiout Cali“ über die Brücke des Rio Malimberg. Am besten hier beim Rio Malimberg parken, sodass die Bewohner von Chiout Cali nicht gestört werden. Wenn man das Wasser checken will, kann man auf der Straße bleiben für ca 200m und den Weg für ca 5-10 min runter zum Rio Sbrici gehen. Koordinaten des unteren Parkplatzes (N46.405550; E013.371185) Mit dem Überstellungsfahrzeug fährt man wieder retour nach „Saletto“, biegt bei der Brücke über die Raccolana rechts ab und fährt wieder das Raccolanatal talauswärts, so wie man vorher in das Tal gefahren ist. Von Saletto fährt man wieder für 3,6km talauswärts bei der „Cascate Repepeit“ vorbei (angeschriebener Wasserfall talauswärts auf der linken Seite) bis man noch vor einer Brücke über die Raccolana in Richtung „Chiout Micheli“/ „Patocco“ rechts abbiegt (Wegweiser befinden sich auf der linken Seite vor der Abbiegung, eine sehr spitze Einfahrt wenn man talauswärts einbiegt) Der Straße für 4,6km bergaufwärts folgen, durch die Tunnel, an Chiout Micheli vorbei bis Patocco. Dort befindet sich ein großer Parklplatz, der aber oft im Sommer sehr zugeparkt ist, weil es ein sehr schöner Startpunkt zum Wandern ist (N46.405900; E013.352400). Für die Überstellung des Fahrzeugs muss man ca 20min-30min rechnen.

Drive south on the SS13 from Austria and at Chiusaforte turn left into the Raccolana Valley. Stay on the SP76 road for about 6.2km until you reach the small village of "Saletto". At the entrance to the village, stay on the SP76, then you will pass a bus stop and just behind it - on the left - is the bridge over the Raccolana. Turn left here. Follow the road for about 800m into the small collection of houses "Chiout Cali" over the bridge of the Rio Malimberg. It is best to park here by the Rio Malimberg so that the residents of Chiout Cali are not disturbed. If you want to check the water, you can stay on the road for about 200m and walk down the path for about 5-10 min to Rio Sbrici. Follow the road uphill for 4.6km, through the tunnels, past Chiout Micheli to Patocco. There is a large parking lot, which is often very crowded in summer, because it is a very nice starting point for hiking (N46.405900; E013.352400). For the transfer of the vehicle you have to calculate about 20min-30min.

Vom Parkplatz eher in Richtung der Ortseinfahrt gehen, bis man den gut beschilderten Anfang des Weges 620 findet. Hier durch die Häuser den roten Pfeilen folgen. Vom Parkplatz weg bleibt man für ca 50 min auf den gut ausgeschildeten Weg 620. Man sieht teilweise schon in die Schlucht des Sbrici rein. Nach 50 min kommt man zu einer sehr gut beschilderten Abbiegung (beim Picknickplatz mit Holztisch). Hier biegt man rechts auf den Weg 621 ab. Der Weg ist anfangs noch gut beschildert, jedoch gab es 2021 hier einen starken Windwurf und so lagen bei unserer Begehung viele Bäume über den Weg. Teilweise ist der Weg auch abgerutscht und man hat ein paar abenteuerliche Schotterquerungen zu überschreiten. Vor allem wenn man sich dem Einstieg des Rio Sbrici nähert wird der Weg immer abenteuerlicher und der ganze Hang ist extrem Steinschlag gefährdet. Das ganze wird dadurch verschärft, dass es in dem Gebiet viele Steinböcke und Gämsen gibt, die auch immer wieder Steine über einem lösen. Nach weiteren 30min – 40 min ist man jedoch beim Einstieg des Sbrici. (N46.418725;E013.355584)

After 50 min you come to a very well signposted turnoff (at the picnic area with a wooden table). Here you turn right onto path 621. The path is initially still well marked, but in 2021 there was a strong windthrow here and so many trees were lying across the path during our walk. Partially, the path has also slipped and you have to cross a few adventurous gravel crossings. Especially when you approach the entry of the Rio Sbrici, the path becomes more adventurous and the whole slope is extremely vulnerable to falling rocks. The whole thing is exacerbated by the fact that there are many ibexes and chamois in the area, which also repeatedly loosen stones above you. However, after another 30min - 40 min one is at the entry of the Sbrici. (N46.418725;E013.355584)

Der Rio Sbrici beginnt oben sehr alpin und ist sehr eng eingeschnitten. Gerade im oberen Teil ist die Felsqualität jedoch mäßig, d.h. man sollte immer ein Notborset mit dabei haben. Die Haken sind teilweise nicht immer offensichtlich angebracht, weil die Felsqualität es nicht überall zugelassen hat, die Haken optimal zu setzen. Nach 2:45 kommt man zum einzigen Notausstieg rechts, der rauf wieder zum Weg 620 führt. Das ist der Einzige Notausstieg in der ganzen Schlucht und vor allem im oberen Teil gibt es auch wenig Möglichkeiten sich in Sicherheit zu bringen. Nach dem Notausstieg ändert sich das Ambiente des Rio Sbrici in ein typischen, friulanischen Canyon mit klarem Wasser und schönen Gumpen und einigen schönen Abseilstellen. Nach einer eingestürzten Staumauer und Wasserableitung folgt danach der höchste Wasserfall – ein 35m senkrechter Wasserfall in einen schönen Gumpen. Dann ist man schon auch bald am Ende der Schlucht, man kommt direkt im Bach zu einer kleinen Ruine und etwa 150m kommt von or. li. ein trockenes Bachbett rein, wo der Weg nach Chiout Cali beginnt.

After the emergency exit, the Rio Sbrici changes into a typical Friulian canyon with clear water and beautiful pools and some nice rappels. After a collapsed dam and water drainage, the highest waterfall follows - a 35m vertical waterfall into a beautiful pool. Then you are also soon at the exit of the canyon, you come directly in the stream to a small ruin and about 150m comes in from or. left a dry streambed, where the trail to Chiout Cali begins.

Ca 100m nach einer Ruine direkt im Bachbett kommt von links ein kleiner Bach der oft trocken ist rein. Hier beginnt der Pfad zurück in den Wald in das Dorf Chiout Cali wo das Auto geparkt wurde. Einfach dem Pfad leicht ansteigend für 5 min folgen.
