12.04.2025 Giaredo Wido ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Normale Completato ✔
Stretti di Giaredo Short easy canyon with some swimming spots without abseiling possibilities. v1a5I No equipment Heavily frequented in good weather, which clearly leads to problems with local residents. The access roads are now closed accordingly. P only possible at 44.3609923N, 9.8741908E 3 places and along the road at 44.3677423N, 9.8625505E. At 44.3677423N, 9.8625505E, leave the road through a chute before the prohibition signs and follow the road down to the river. Follow this upwards until the rock walls form the canyon. The first section is the most spectacular. After about 150 m, the canyon widens again. After passing under a bridge, the canyon narrows again. You can orographically climb around a large clamping block on the right and soon reach the last pool in red rock. This is the turning point. Total length of the canyon approx. 700 m Please respect the needs of local residents.
10.04.2025 Marmitte dei Giganti Wido ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Secco Completato ✔
Marmitte dei Giganti Extinguisher of the Giants Very easy dry canyon in beautifully polished marble. The real difficulty lies in the ascent. The sloping slabs require safe climbing in grade II. There are enough anchors for the ascent. Even after rain, the canyon quickly runs out of water. However, the grass-covered rock in the ascent must be dry otherwise it will be tricky. Great equipment, ascent bolts not quite so great but they should be enough for the sloping slabs. From SP13, follow the orange markings from point 44.0615267N, 10.2879448E. Then climb after the yellow markings on the orographic left-hand side. Later, follow the markings again at the bottom of the gorge. After the "waterfall" 44.0660266N, 10.2841258E you can continue to follow the markings or start the descent with them.

Gole di Tiberio Short swim canyon v1a5I P 37.916944°, 14.191389° Walk a few more steps along the paid area (without entering it) and take the approx. 400 steps to the right to the Gole di Tiberio. Swimming distance approx. 200 m Either swim back (if the current is weak) or climb up the path on the right (olive plantation) until you reach a path and later an asphalt road that leads back to the P. 07.04.2025 Contrada Bacco Wido ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Alto Completato ✔
Contrada Bacco v3a2III Equipment partly borderline, possibly take a set with you Longest rappel 15 m Small canyon in a beautiful mountain area near the village of Alcara dei Fusi. With a bit of luck you can observe golden eagles. Entry at the 2 concrete bridges 38.0241676N, 14.7093549E. The first part of the canyon is unfortunately quite full of garbage. You can also skip the first, less interesting part and join the sparsely marked hiking trail. 1. slide brake from tree 2 m 2. downclimb 6 m left, or from hourglass right 3. bra right 3m -Hiking trail crosses 4th BH center on large block 5 m or downclimb left 5. right 2, BH 10 m 6. left 2 chains 15m 7. right chain 10 m 8. left 15 m 2 new BH ropes jammed on block! 9. use left remains of the rope traverse 6m 10. at the last fall left overgrown traverese rope Left over barely recognizable path a few meters to the road. 38.0226091N, 14.7045783E Start of hiking trail 38.0216199N, 14.7051490E
29.03.2025 Ranciara Wido ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Alto Completato ✔
Forra Laudani Very short but beautiful canyon. The stream later flows into the Gole Aranciara. From Limina, follow the wide road to the exit of the asphalt 37°56.72708'N, 15°15.22607'E. Park here or continue for another 3 km if your car can take it and paint scratches are not a problem. Before the large bridge at the break in the wall 37°55.92842'N, 15°14.03908'E, descend in a hairpin bend to a kind of ford (entry) 37°55.96077'N, 15°14.01772'E. This is followed by some short chutes and steps that are well equipped with anchors. Then comes the highlight of the canyon, the 10 m rappel in the waterline. If the water pressure is too high, you can rappel directly into the pool to the right of a somewhat hidden sling on a clamping block. Another small step follows and you slide through a chute into the last pool 37°56.07888'N, 15°14.04236'E. Climb up a small side stream on the left and up the steep slope to reach the entry point along the canyon in a few minutes. Without sufficient water, the canyon is rather uninteresting. Superiore equipment Several exit options a3v2III Under the bridge there is a pool with a swimming area where you can also make a small jump. Otherwise the pools are too shallow for jumping. 27.03.2025 Sirina (superiore) Wido ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Normale Completato ✔
Further gorge sections in the large valley to the west below Castelmola. You can at least find water here after rain. From Villagonia, take the narrow road under the highway up the valley. It is best to park respectfully on the road at 37°51.00493'N, 15°16.24045'E next to the house. At 37°51.00493'N, 15°16.24045'E turn right down a bad road to the entry 37°51.27721'N, 15°16.26473'E. To be on the safe side, you can install a fixed rope (20m) as an emergency exit at the pipe bridge visible from above. The gorges are very overgrown. Depending on the vegetation, head into the streambed and through the reeds to the first abseil point. v3a2IV Good equipment 1. 4m 2. 3 m hanging rope 3. 4m 4. several short T partly with BH 5. 2BH 3 m access to 14 m rappel, chain 6. short T The 14 m rappel in the watercourse is, depending on the water supply, the most rewarding part of the canyon. After the old water building, immediately take the barely visible path on the right (garden shears helpful) up to the pipe bridge and from there continue up to the access.
27.03.2025 Sirina (superiore) Wido ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Secco Completato ✔
Sirina Large valley to the west below Castelmola. There are probably 3 sections of the gorge that can be hiked. Information could only be found about 2 parts. From Villagonia narrow road under the highway up the valley. At 37°51.14594'N, 15°15.67966'E, take the small asphalt road on the right. You can park your car at 37°51.46847'N, 15°16.01785'E. There is hardly any parking further on. At the exit of the road above the building, cross the stream and follow the path through terraced terrain to a ridge. Here, follow the barely visible path diagonally down to the beginning of the canyon. The following canyon is dry even after rain. A few small pools can be crossed. v3a1III Superiore equipment, mostly chains 1. 23 m after 10 m intermediate stand 2. 4m 3. 5m 4. 10 m 5. 8m 6. 19 m 7. 8 m 8. 15 m A few meters before the stream (small waterfall) you can climb very steeply up the slope on the right. If you follow the stream up to a path, the last few meters are very overgrown and difficult to overcome. The path to the right is very pleasant. When you reach the access road, turn right back to the P.
23.03.2025 Palazzolo Wido ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Normale Completato ✔
Gola Palazzolo Beautiful canyon that starts very relaxed. The path becomes steadily more demanding until the very beautiful 35 m waterfall at the exit. Turn off the SP110 at 37.9823458N, 14.9811202E onto a small asphalt road. P at 37.9649756N, 14.9895190E. From here follow the dirt road to a ford at 37.9576660N, 14.9853086E. Get in here. After a few meters, the stream enters the canyon. There are several short abseils no longer than 5 m, some of which can be downclimbed. Jumps are not possible. The small pools are shallow and blocked. The often slippery blocks in the watercourse require some caution. The short rappel after the giant tree is followed by a channel (critical depending on the water supply) with several BHs leading to the final drop. You can rappel from the chain in a 35 m step in the watercourse or left 10 m to 2 moderate BH0. From these, a 25 m rappel leads over a whirlpool cave into the final pool. Alternatively, you can traverse from the moderate BH to the left and rappel from a tree outside the waterline. Exit the last pool on the left and follow the path to the fenced water building. Follow the fence to the path, which is easy to follow back to the P. The requirements vary greatly depending on the water supply. In late spring, the canyon often dries out quickly and is then rather uninteresting. Water quality: good but murky, hardly any garbage Equipment: good to moderate Emergency exit only possible at the start

Forra sghiccio malvagna a3v2III In the same place a 2nd canyon (water-bearing) Clear canyon with 5 short abseils. You fight your way through the narrow streets of Malvagna to a monstrous road that leads down to Cascata Sghiccio. P 37.9215766N, 15.0606619E a few steps above at the exit of the road. This is the exit and a good place to check the water level. Follow the road back up and through the village to the cemetery. Another P 37.9205583N, 15.0566608E. Follow the closed road behind the cemetery until you come to an open building on the right. Sharp right along the forest road to a wire fence. Follow inside a ridge. Before the exit, take a sharp left back down the slope at an angle until you reach a pool. Entry 37.9270912N, 15.0621766E. Now follow the streambed for about 400m. Four cascades follow in quick succession. After another section of walking you reach the last and most beautiful abseiling point of the canyon, which leads into a double pool. 1. 12 m 2BH right, 1,BH left 2. 9 m 1BH+1SH left directly above the water line 3. 13 m 2 BH left into dry side arm 4. 8m 2BH left below trees 5. 7m 2BH left above under small wall Good equipment Exit possible at any time right or left Track at Wikiloc

25.02.2025 Pantalica Wido ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Alto Completato ✔
The original data from Gulliver.it refers to a hike in northern Italy. There is probably no technical canyon in Pantalica. But there is a nice aqua trek: Depending on the water supply, the character of the tour varies greatly. The starting point is the parking lot at the eastern entrance to the Anapo Valley. You have to register in a book at the entrance to the nature park. The opening hours of the entrance vary according to the season. Follow the road along the old railroad track. The first signposted possibility to leave the track leads towards the Ferla entrance. After a few meters you have to cross the Anapo. Continue uphill past the somewhat hidden Roman water pipe to the Ferla entrance (parking lot). From there, descend to the left in a large arc (on the way, a green gate blocks the descent to the interesting Grotta dei pipistrelli) down to Torrente Calcinara. This is where the actual trek begins. Depending on the time of year, this is the point to put on your neoprene. You now follow the watercourse through a number of pools and a few short, easy waterfalls. On the left you reach the start of the Bohemian aqueduct. There is a possible jump of 4m here. Opposite is a steep path that can be used as an emergency exit. After 200 m you reach the Fiume Anapo. Now continue downstream until you can get out onto a path on the right. You can follow the Anapo further downstream. However, this quickly becomes tedious due to the slippery rock. You soon reach the point where you crossed the Anapo on the ascent. Continue as on the access. Entry: 37.1400111N, 15.0298923E Exit: 37.1395651N, 15.0358404E

13.01.2025 Orghe Nere Wido ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ Completato ✕
The canyon is incorrectly located. The area around Mazara del Vallo is flatland. It is more likely to be "Fosso Orghenere" in the Castelmare del Golfo area. Castelmare is indicated on Gulliver.it (original source) as the starting point. On OSM, "Fosso Orghenere" is entered at 38.0168447N, 12.8118125E.

Pleasant water supply. The section before the last rappel is spectacular
15.10.2024 Caprera Wido ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Normale Completato ✔
Easily doable due to the receding water. The lovingly laid out access and return path is unfortunately falling into disrepair and is beginning to overgrow.

Superiore anchorage points. Challenging with the relatively high water supply. Short but beautiful.
06.10.2024 Molino (superiore) Wido ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Normale Completato ✔
Very nice tour, interesting scenic change when you reach the main stream. The last rappel is a bit tricky as you have to cross the main stream and it is quite slippery.
05.10.2024 Vallone Wido ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Basso Completato ✔
No slings on the trees. There is currently a dead sow on the 2nd rappel. The first part is nice. After the long rappel quite a lot of rubble. The last one is quite nice again.
